I worked at hibu full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

I was there when Joe Walsh ran the company and it was extremely sales oriented. One of the best places I have worked. Training all the time was a part of the job and helped sales stay focused and sharp. The company philosphy was for every department to support the sales people and make life easier for them so they could sell. I have not found that elsewhere, nor have I found a sales company that puts such emphasis on training. We had a lot of activities and functions outside of work too that were great fun.

Cons

Well its sales, so you have good days, great days and of course some tough days! Sometimes they could have skipped a few meetings, that seems to be true just about everywhere. Although I found one company that could have used a meeting or two more, believe it or not!

Advice to Management

Keep encouraging your teams, stay fresh, enthusiastic and supportive

I have been working at hibu full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of Vacation time, especially if you've been with the company for 5+ years. Good benefits if your single.

    Cons

Bad benefits if you have a family. Pay rates are very low to start. Raises are very low.

    Advice to Management

Better benefits and pay rates for senior employees.

I have been working at hibu full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Autonomy if you do not work near one of hibu's corporate centers (King of Prussia, PA or Cedar Rapids, IA). Remote working, if that is your thing, is a plus for those who need flexibility.

    Cons

Poor communication despite the obnoxious amount of "required" training they put you through. The management structure is such that it reminds me of a Ponzi scheme ... very tiered and the lower one is on the rung, the more heavy lifting is required.

    Advice to Management

Achieve better parity in the chiefs-to-Indians ratio.
