I worked at hibu full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Independent position where direct management leaves you alone to handle your own business.

Cons

Constant threat of being terminated if you do not hit your new business quota each month. Year round deployment leaves you with no print renewals half of the year and thus very little opportunity for consistent commissions. They completely ignore their current customer base who is responsible for 70% of the company's revenue.

Advice to Management

Need to focus more attention on the current customer base and stop putting so much attention on new business. It takes 8-10 times more time and money to sign up a new account then to resign a current customer. You have a established customer base, focus on them and renew and increase them first. Once this business is gone they are not coming back.

I have been working at hibu full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A lot of products to sell, no income cap, daily freedom

    Cons

A lot of products to sell, daily reporting can be monotonous, I know the products as well as our computers better than my manager does (they give us computers to sell with). He said it is not his job to understand my computer or the order entry system.

    Advice to Management

Train your sales managers and regional managers on the tablet and Media Pro (proprietary order entry software) so that they understand what I go through daily. My manager said he didn't need to know how to use the computer because it wasn't his job. Well it is now....
