I have been working at j2 Global full-time (More than a year)

Pros

pays for public transportation costs or parking costs for employees, snacks & other meals/food perks for employees, covers employee health benefits free, very easy-going (in my department anyway), great people.

Cons

doesn't like to spend money to keep employee equipment/computers at reasonable levels, while always buying the best/newest hardware for top & some middle-management. wants to bandaid existing systems & software/OS's, instead of spending some money to encourage reliability.

Advice to Management

don't be afraid to spend at least a small amount of money to keep the computers your employees use a little less than 9 years old, running software that's close to end of life. having systems people can barely rely on to at least do the minimum, shouldn't be expecting too much.

    Pros

    Financial rewards for hard work, and taking on extra responsibilities. Consistent company growth. Stable environment. Lots of opportunity to succeed if you are a proactive individual.

    Cons

    Don't like to promote from within. Slow internal processes can be tough to work with. Lack inspiring leadership.

    Advice to Management

    Share your vision with employees more often via all hands meetings. Don't be afraid to promote star employees.

    Pros

    Good people working for the company, fun in some cases, breakfast lots of catering for lunch. Nice christmas parties, company massages half paid by the company. Location is great, near all the movie action. Get to see lots of movie premiers from your desk. Company discount on movie tickets.. 5.00 movie tickets

    Cons

    Horrible with promoting high producers, management is the worst I've ever had. Company charge backs on your commission is always a fight at the end of the month. Their motive is to keep as much as your commission as possible. You could make really good money if you work 15 hours per days. At the end of the tunnel, if your looking to make more than 45,000 per year this is not for you as a high producer in sales. Oh and very high turn over.

    Advice to Management

    Learn something so you could help your team, Don't corner your employees because you can't answer their questions. Loud talking them or using profanity is not always the professional approach. Honesty is alwasy best when it comes to someones Livelihood.
