I have been working at j2 Global full-time (More than a year)

Pros

pays for public transportation costs or parking costs for employees, snacks & other meals/food perks for employees, covers employee health benefits free, very easy-going (in my department anyway), great people.

Cons

doesn't like to spend money to keep employee equipment/computers at reasonable levels, while always buying the best/newest hardware for top & some middle-management. wants to bandaid existing systems & software/OS's, instead of spending some money to encourage reliability.

Advice to Management

don't be afraid to spend at least a small amount of money to keep the computers your employees use a little less than 9 years old, running software that's close to end of life. having systems people can barely rely on to at least do the minimum, shouldn't be expecting too much.

    I have been working at j2 Global full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    There are no "pros" to working here except proximity the subway.

    Cons

    Absolutely nothing good about this company, benefits are lousy, and pay is under market. The attitude here is that people are replaceable. Network Operations is the worst group. Incompetent senior leadership, who routinely pits people against each other and manipulates, blames everyone but themselves when things go wrong. Classic example of a Machiavellian narcissistic type executives. People quit this place fast.

    Advice to Management

    Reorganize. This company suffers from greed and lack of fresh executive management.

    Pros

    Financial rewards for hard work, and taking on extra responsibilities. Consistent company growth. Stable environment. Lots of opportunity to succeed if you are a proactive individual.

    Cons

    Don't like to promote from within. Slow internal processes can be tough to work with. Lack inspiring leadership.

    Advice to Management

    Share your vision with employees more often via all hands meetings. Don't be afraid to promote star employees.
