I have been working at Empower Media full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Chill atmosphere
    Great future
    Good people
    Intelligent group
    Awesome clientele
I'm pretty young, and millennials are notorious for jumping jobs a lot, but I plan to stick around for as long as they'll have me.

    Cons

I don't really have any. Especially once we move into the new building, it's going to be state-of-the-art and amazing.

    Advice to Management

Meh. There are some things here or there but nothing REALLY worth mentioning. It's a great place to call work-home. Also let's get some more bodies in those New York & Chicago offices -- I want to move!

I worked at Empower Media full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good volume of business won. Their culture and values are good on the surface and have potential if followed through on.

    Cons

They have never figured out how to stabilize business without layoffs. Management has a strong culture of favoritism and complex office politics. Policies are not enforced uniformly across the agency.

    Advice to Management

Clean house at the upper levels, not just the lower tiers. Your leadership is destroying your values.

    Pros

Great "Family-Owned" culture with a long track record of media innovation.

    Cons

Smaller sized for a media agency.

I have been working at Empower Media as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours and as group we share the same aspirations of making the company very successful.

    Cons

I believe the company could be more consistent when communicating with new clients.

    Advice to Management

Possibly need to be more innovative with how we gain clients.

I worked at Empower Media full-time

    Pros

Very supportive work environment. Flexibility to manage a great work/life balance without feeling like you're putting your job at risk. Fairly stable (as stable as agency life gets), and makes a real effort to be transparent about business conditions. Favorable benefits package

    Cons

Fairly clear ceiling and a feeling that processes were a bit stuck. Compensation was low, but that seems to be standard for young professionals trying to get a start within an agency

I have been working at Empower Media full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great values and family friendly. Always evolving to keep up with the change of times. Tries to hire seasoned/experienced employees to move the business in the right direction.

    Cons

compensation could be better. communication between depts. needs improvement & recognition across the board is lacking. Moves seating too often.

    Advice to Management

Don't let your experienced/dedicated staff leave....do what it takes to keep good workers even if it is utilizing them in other areas.

    Pros

Great people! Fun working environment. Empower truly has a "family feel" upper management does care about the employees and their well-being.

    Cons

Poor compensation. The answer to everything is "put in more over time" which is a little unrealistic when I am already steadily putting in 45-50 hours per week. The hours to compensation ratio is a little off.

    Advice to Management

Salary increase. Need to do what it takes to keep the great people we have working for us. I realize we are in a down economy but we really need to do what it takes to keep our talent.
