I have been working at Emprise Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers and managers are so nice! It's so refreshing to work at a place where everyone gets along and we are all treated with respect. I have found a home at Emprise and I hope to be here for the rest of my career.

    Cons

Only negative is the vacation package, but paid bank holidays and all the positives outweigh this drawback.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for creating such a good working environment!

I worked at Emprise Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The work environment was wonderful. Allowed to progress and do what ever it took to get your job done. People were great. Winning organization!

    Cons

The compensation was below market average. Career growth opportunities were limited.

    Advice to Management

Review your compensation package for future employees. Communicate career opportunities and limitations before employees make those judgments. Do not give up the family culture that exist within. Listen to your employees.

    Pros

Excellent insurance available. Great tuition reimbursement program. Good company culture. You feel like your opinion is valued at times. Decent vacation plan.

    Pros

Great hours and pay. Wonderful benefits. Outstanding employees and higher-ups. I love coming to work every day to see my customers.

    Cons

Although I'm a part time employee, I'm not getting the most out of my hour range each week which takes a hit on my paycheck after taxes each pay period.

    Advice to Management

While you have outstanding employees, I'd like to see a different side of my manager. Some of the actions I see or hear about makes me wish I could transfer branches.

I worked at Emprise Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people. My coworkers were all fantastic people.

Employee focus. The bank at large is really concerned with having a happy and motivated staff and has made efforts to increase wages and provides competitive benefits as well as recognition programs for employees.

Great customers. Emprise prides itself on delivering a superior customer service experience and it shows in how much customers love the bank and staff. We received treats and special thank you's weekly and around the holidays it really ramped up. I gained weight from customer appreciation.

    Cons

There are some really great managers, and there are some managers that are really great at going unnoticed for how abysmal they are.

I worked largely for a really great manager who was more than willing to foster my growth in my role and recognized the areas where I was skilled. I also worked for a regional manager who did a really good job of helping me apply for positions in other departments I was interested in and really seemed to care about helping me get to where I wanted to be and also frequently gave good advice about my role and how to do better in it.

Unfortunately I also worked for managers who weren't at all interested in inspiring personal development beyond what would help their numbers and were quick to tell me one thing and do another. There was a real lack of true leadership. Everything was done in a very HR-approved, business management degree style instead of done openly and honestly and with respect. In the end I chose to leave because it was clear that none of my current management cared about developing me or helping me grow professionally despite claiming a desire to do so. They made it clear that not only would I have to leave the bank to grow but that they would force me out.

    Advice to Management

Be actual leaders. The executive level seems to have plenty of leadership in the form of Tom Page and the Michaelis family who are honest, hard-working people with integrity. The retail side is populated with self-serving cowards who destroy morale and pressure employees to their breaking point - which I've seen multiple times. The climate of favoritism has to go and regionals need to be reminded that it's the branch staff who make the whole thing work and they should respect and appreciate employees, not make threats and ultimatums.
