I worked at Encompass Home Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Paid time off is good

    Cons

You have to use paid time off for holiday pay. If you see patients on a holiday you STILL have to have to use paid time off. Office staff is extremely disorganized in local branch, no one calls and checks on hospital hold list, there is no culture, no value place on patient care, I’m currently working my last week as have sought other employment because I can’t stand the disorder after 4 years anymore sadly.

    Advice to Management

When you have a 22% turnover and many complaints about the management, DO SOMETHING

I worked at Encompass Home Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you are not a clinician, the PTO is pretty good.

    Cons

Benefits are expensive, they expect one person to do several jobs while others only have one. Constant IT issues, too much control from the corporate offices which delays processes. Favoritism and management acting superior to staff.

    Advice to Management

Stop acquiring and pay more attention to what is going on with your current branches. Clinicians are being burnt out in the field due to overwhelming workload.

I worked at Encompass Home Health full-time

    Pros

Clinical teams and office support staff are great—some of the best nurses, therapists, and office managers that I’ve ever worked with. The company does invest a lot in training of new employees. Clinical teams work very hard to provide great care. C-level management spends a lot of time traveling around visiting with each office and they make sincere efforts to be personal and approachable. At its roots, it is a company...

    Cons

A lot of empty promises regarding compensation and benefits. High turnover on the sales side. Small offices with growth potential seem to be neglected by regional sales managers. Sales ethos is “one size fits all” and the company does not adapt to the individual needs and challenges in each market. Management is fickle and turns over staff very quickly rather than allowing sales staff to gain traction with accounts....

    Advice to Management

Take the time to listen to your “boots on the ground” about what accounts and referral sources are saying and what they see in the local market, and adapt the sales process and care models to fit that market. Encourage hiring managers to be completely honest with prospective employees about job duties, compensation/benefits, and the state of the market they will be working in. Don’t hire employees if there is not a...

      "Mediocre Experience"

      StarStarStarStarStar
        Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Encompass Home Health full-time for more than a year

        Pros

The company is growing very quickly, invests in employees from a culture and training perspective, and overall has authentic people.

        Cons

The company's bottom line comes from efficiency trade-offs (e.g. lower pay, higher work in particular for clinical staff). The mission is compelling, but has an underlying religious tone that doesn't feel welcoming of those who are not of the same faith. The company also isn't open to new ideas or innovation so much as doing what they've always done.

I worked at Encompass Home Health full-time

        Pros

There aren't any pros to add. I guess it pays little money but still pays money.

        Cons

So many. They don't allow adequate time for the employees to turn their contacts into partnerships. The programs aren't impressive. Every HH has similar programs available. Sincerity between the employee and potential partner is necessary in achieving success. I knew that this company wasn't the best or even in the top half so I couldn't present it as such.

        Advice to Management

Dive deeper into local markets. Don't just assume all are the same. Give employees sufficient time to develop their contacts into partnerships. High turnover makes them look terrible.
