I worked at Endurance International Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

catered lunches random trinkets parental leave of 5 weeks!

    Cons

Code in big rooms with everyone looking at you. Noisy co-workers Changing expectations Changing job descriptions to get rid of people Bad managers Little to no documentation Knowledge is held by about three people who cannot be disturbed for questions Advancements are random and mysterious People are randomly fired People are quitting Company is lead at the top by inexperienced engineers who leave in 6... months (probably because they know they won't get in trouble if they quit as soon as they realize things are bad.) Mid-level managers are technically excellent at coding but poor at managing. I would have quit sooner but they kept me so busy I could not look for another job. They keep growing by acquisition--meaning they buy hosting companies and then wonder why their stock price is so low. They are so highly leveraged by debt that if anything goes wrong they will fold.

I have been working at Endurance International Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Love the company and the work. Fun projects and teams.

    Cons

EIG was an awesome place to work for until the acquisition of Constant Contact, once that happened it turned into "all hands on CTCT". Great people were pushed out or left because of the acquisition. They decided to get rid of the best Technical Recruiter the company had for years and now we're getting terrible candidates for our open roles. The stuff going on for the individual brands is great and all the negatives... are having to deal with the revolving door of people in leadership roles and having to kiss the feet of all CTCT execs to appease them even though they were acquired...bleh Also, pay here is terrible and not competitive in the tech industry. I get calls and emails all day about jobs paying a lot more than I currently make.

    Advice to Management

Jeff Fox, separate from CTCT and make EIG great again...

I worked at Endurance International Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nothing. Can't think of anything else.

    Cons

Pay is below average and benefits is ok. Manager was crazy about micro-management. He monitored you and paid more attention to trivial things like how often you check your personal cell phone than your real performance. The manager did not try to motivate you for better performance or guide you to grow skill sets or advance your career. He was more interested in how many hours you were on computer, how often you... checked your personal cell, and etc. He even encouraged whistle blowing among co-workers.

Your feedback is appreciated, and we are sorry to hear you had a less than satisfactory experience at Endurance. The vast majority of our management staff pride themselves on being leaders who delegate and trust their teams to do a job well done, providing guidance and growth opportunities ...

I worked at Endurance International Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The bosses don't understand technology and the team is miniscule, so you're free to move things in whatever direction you choose.

    Cons

Bosses spend 6-8 hours a day working for other companies, so you have to do their jobs for them; they expect you to turn water to wine on a daily basis while doing the work of four or five other people; if you do solid work day in and day out and don't show it off you get interrogated; everybody gets treated like the bosses' personal assistants; bosses change direction all the time depending on with exec is yelling... at them the most (usually it's the biz dev guy but they seem to rotate); bosses and other brands brick around their teams constantly, don't listen to their people and talk back when the team is trying to help save them from themselves. No opportunity for promotion, no continuing education, you're not allowed to take your vacation time, and if you're not racing to the bottom with them, you're an outcast. Trust/honesty/loyalty are nonexistant. They truly believe profit comes from having senior backend engineers change text colors on landing pages and demand business reporting on a daily to hourly basis - which they use to micromanage you.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people; don't chase shiny objects; do your own jobs so other people don't have to; focus priorities on core business rather than branching all over the place. Don't run everybody to their limits 24/7/365.

I worked at Endurance International Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Best Salary comparable to google. Work life balance. monetary benifits

    Cons

Lack of learning opportunity. They still use old error filled legacy code(Java servlets) and waste all efforts trying to make things work on top of it. huge middle layer bureaucracy managers working with the company for15 yrs and are only trying to focus on saving their jobs. Lack of resources more time spent on bureaucracy and rules rather than a code. India team wants to work but the US team provides enough... hindrance. focus is on business rather than code. middle management is filled with engineers promoted too fast. lack of support to genuine concerns of employees

    Advice to Management
