I worked at Energen full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefit package with generous paid time off. 401k and holidays, affordable medical, dental, vision, and life ins.

    Cons

Culture of the company continues to change as original officers retiring. Benefits were being changed to realign with other oil and gas E&P companies so it wasn't as special as in earlier years.

    Advice to Management

More communication to employees on what is going on in the company. Greatly affects morale of the workforce and allows for too much speculation when employees are kept in the dark about the current state of company operations.

I worked at Energen (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some great employees --- but no longer appreciated / valued. At this time still offers pension with lump sum option and performance incentive. Stable stock performance.

    Cons

Internal communications are sparse at best and not trusted. Most of sr. leadership team has lost touch with issues and doesn't listen to employees. Lack of trust in CEO and his team. Unconcern for work-life balance. Annual review process is a joke. No advocate for employees.
