    Pros

I can't think of a lot. The work itself was interesting on my project at least, with challenging engineering problems to solve and a complex system to understand.

    Cons

Uncertainty about the next paycheck--when someone in congress shuts down the government to make a political point, employees had to take PTO or leave without pay. Advancement in the company is based less on merit and talent and more on years experience and level of education.

    Pros

Mostly, my colleagues were professional and skilled, and they placed a big emphasis on on-going training.

    Cons

The clients of my project (US Army civilian staff) were a nightmare. We were treated as incompetent children, and the project goals were constantly changing.

    Advice to Management

There is little advice to give -- they did the best they could with what they had to work with.

I worked at Engility full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None really. The company had benefits which carried over from L-3 Communications, but once it became Engility, those benefits died a very quick death.

    Cons

Treated employees badly. They took away the 401K matching as well raises. They also took a week's worth of vacation time from middle management.
Yet the CEO and his cabinet were still able to receive their bonuses, which happened to have a total well in the millions.

    Advice to Management

Management really needs to straighten out their overall structure as well as treat their employees better.
