    I worked at Engility full-time

    Pros

    Good education benefits, 401k matching

    Cons

I don't recommend TASC/ Engility as a place to begin your career. While the tasks and duties on my resume seem impressive, they are "paper thin. TASC/ Engility culture is to let senior level employees do most of the work while junior employees' main job is to appear busy in front of the customer. I spent a large amount of time reading Financial Times, WSJ, etc. because there was so little to do.

    Advice to Management

Give your junior employees real responsibility, and teach them a thing or two. They might stick around.

I have been working at Engility full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

My two cents: Engility listens to its employees, pay is decent, PTO isn't too shabby either (4.62 every two weeks and can be carried over). Engility also coordinates several volunteer/charity events throughout the year that brings employees together as well as helps the community.

    Cons

When contract ends it's tough to find work elsewhere in the company.

I have been working at Engility full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Location Is good I guess

    Cons

No clear guidance from up top; constant layoffs and cost cutting. Flat. No apparent energy from senior management. Politics all around - friends are promoted or saved from layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company and try to salvage the contracts you still have.

    Pros

New CEO and VP of Contracts have been making some significant changes to the structure of the organization to ensure the company works more effectively together. I believe they are aligning themselves to become very successful in the future.

    Cons

Health care benefits are expensive with very high deductibles. The company also does not match 401k contributions until you have several years of service.

    Advice to Management

Become more competitive with other companies in regards to 401K contributions and health care. I understand it's an expensive investment, but human capitol is important.

I worked at Engility full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked with Tasc/Engility for about 2 years.
Worked with very talented engineers. They were professional and knowledgeable.
Nice work environment with good office spaces - no cubicles, and all engineers had window offices! That was really nice.
Friendly co-workers at every turn. Everyone I worked with in the San Bernardino location was pleasant, polite, and enjoyable to know.

    Cons

Most complaints I might make would be more of an upper management or corporate level thing:
Wasn't thrilled with the benefits package. Health insurance quality is slipping, but this is true across the country and across all disciplines. PTO accrual is poor. 401k match compares poorly to competition. Salary was considerably lower than competitors - all these are likely reasons for the high attrition rate at the location. When I was offered a better salary at a competitor, Tasc made almost no effort at all to match the salary. Maybe budget constraints are a real thing, but that just means that better planning in contracting is needed to be able to pay engineers a competitive wage.
Other cons: limited variety in available contracts and work. Somewhat limited opportunity to expand or grow or learn something different. (locally, I mean) Most of the exciting work is off-site.

    Advice to Management

Only advice really would be to ambitiously pursue more contract awards with greater diversity of subject matter. This could help keep the attention of the workers. In my 11 years in aerospace, my best manager was at Tasc/Engility so no real complaints there.
