I worked at Eni as a contractor

    Pros

The team i worked with was amazing, we all did what we had to do to make sure our job got done.

    Cons

Management on the other hand sucks! . Most of my team came on at the same time and our supervisor at the time was awesome, she knew our policies and procedures just as well as we did. We transitioned to a new supervisor who knew nothing about our dept and she refused to listen to the team. She did listen to the problem child though who told her exactly how she wanted things to work, not by the procedures put in place. As a good team member i tried to tell my supervisor about some shady things being done by a certain employee and she just kept on letting her, i'm sure ENI shelled out alot of money for unnecessary Overtime. But as the saying goes "A Bad managers takes a good staff and destroys it and causes the best employees to flee and the rest to lose motivation"

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees about their concerns, they deal with the everyday of the job, most of the time if they are saying something its because its gotten to the point to where management should intervene.

I worked at Eni full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Solid company, well-built, strong infrastructure with a long global history. Eni US is a small regional company affiliate to the much much larger Eni SPA. Working within this small affiliate can provide some visibility to the interrelations and interactions between the individual disciplines and departments of an energy company.

    Cons

eni is glass ceiling (not a glass door) for career advancement. Draconian and unprofessional method in performing staff reductions to the point where eni's front-line and even some senior managers does not know if their own direct and down line reports have been laid of or not until the very day before the lay-off.

I have been working at Eni (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Top healthcare benefits, 10% Roth 401k regardless of contribution, relatively good pay if they value you enough for you not to leave, flexible schedule as long as you get the work done

    Cons

They never fire anyone since it's against the corporate culture; also management often places the wrong people in middle management roles; this is harmful as the best performers suffer for it. Also the bonus structure is socialist with everyone receiving a bonus regardless of performance score. They should uphold more of an American meritocracy rewards structure and punish the underperformers.

    Advice to Management

They should uphold more of an American meritocracy rewards structure to reward top performers and punish the underperformers.
