I have been working at Enlivant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Support all the way up to CEO! It speaks volumes when top leadership takes time to interact with employees regularly. I spent 10 years with my previous company and NEVER laid eyes on high level management who stayed behind closed doors in a separate area of the corporate office

    Cons

No different than any other issues in the industry

    Advice to Management

    Keep being visible. It matters!

    Pros

Unlimited PTO, great team members, wonderful residents and families and tons of ways to grow within.

    Cons

    Almost non existent regional support.

    Advice to Management

The in the field regional directors need to be in the field. I've seen mine 5 times in a year. The corporate team is always willing to help, but that middle step is missing.

I worked at Enlivant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Unlimited PTO and relationships with residents.

    Cons

Enlivant is a young company and the time I was with the company had made many changes. The problem is... there is very little input from those IN the field on what would make practices more effective. Instead frequent, quick webinars were held with brand new policies rolled out every 6-8 weeks. Depending on who was in what seat at any particular moment (turn over is high with regional staff and beyond too) would depend on which policy was being followed on a given day. As an ED who cared deeply that the promises I made to families could be upheld, I was frequently put in a corner when I gave any resistance to deny a lead based on an over the top level of care. Yet, I was called the "CEO" of my community. Enlivant leadership, stop... spreading...this.. lie. It is simply misleading and gives every ED in the company a false sense of superiority and autonomy when it comes to making major decisions. The communities are not run by the EDs, the ED is only the sole person in charge/responsible if things are left undone, not done to a certain unachievable standard, or someone needs to be thrown under the bus for a regional person not keeping their word or promise. It is unfortunate, because as another review by a former ED stated... this company has real potential to shine, but instead the corporate feel and vibe has completed taken over. When you're in the business of human lives, it is important to not lose sight of the responsibility that brings. I'm afraid Enlivant is too far gone at this point to return back to the goodness that attracted so many.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your community leadership. We would not be in these roles if we were not vested in the present and future circumstances of the communities we are responsible for. If we indicate that we are overworked, we mean it.

Find a way to empower your EDs without burning them out and leaving them feeling completely jaded about the industry. This may mean opening the pocket book for some more internal, qualified support staff. While this may not be the typical practice, would you rather your 100% turnover rate for EDs continue for years to come?

Accountability is absolutely necessary at the community level, but the regional staff should also be held to the same standard.

Ensure your regional staff have the ability to actually lead and motivate a team. Without that, there will be no trust.

Do a better job at demonstrating that your MVV are truly at the center of the work being done everyday.
