I worked at Enphase Energy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The products and the technology they are in, is very niche. Great scope for development. Initially the pay is good.

    Cons

The top management lacks vision and are in process of making quick bucks and sell the company. Highly influenced by the cypress culture. Politics and favouritism had spread to all levels of hierarchy. HR policies needs to be strengthened. Attrition rate is always on the higher side, both in the US and in India. Everyone including CEO needs communication training, specially on how to communicate with employees.

    Advice to Management

Understand your employees concerns. Stop treating them as machines that runs 24/7, listening to your lambasting words. You don't own them just because you pay their salary. Try to respect them, their experience; they will repay you more with performance.

I have been working at Enphase Energy full-time

    Pros

    1. Good product 2. Few capable individuals left 3. Current market share (which may last for next 2 quarters)

    Cons

    1. Politics (If you have an offer, better join Cypress and then join this company) 2. Horrible culture (No-one in management respects their team members nor peers) 3. Absolute lack of Vision (No new products in-line, no plans to expand in current market) 4. All time high market position (Thanks to inflated numbers and market influencers like Ahmad Chatila & co. the numbers are as high as it can ever get... -Q2-19, it's all downhill from here) 5. Pathetic Management style (Mid management has absolutely no say nor clue about what they are doing; Zero process-Zero documentation-Zero effort made to complete the false promises made to top management) 6. Miserably inadequate HR policies (HR has almost no say in anything; and just uni directional in passing orders from top) 7. ESOP is a joke (Don't fall for their new secret weapon during hiring) 8. Operations, Order management, Planning, Indian engineering teams are the most inept teams you will ever see) 9. Founders have given up on trying to get current management on board with their vision/mission as the latter's intentions are only to milk the cow dry as much as they can, before it goes to chptr-11.

I have been working at Enphase Energy full-time

    Pros

This is a company with a revolutionary technology with tons of potential that you can feel good about representing. The majority of the team is passionate about our work, the future of Enphase and the difference our technology and upcoming technologies will make in the industry and for the planet. Management gives every employee a platform to express their voice and make a difference with the culture and the... future of the organization. Many of our customers are "die-hard" Enphase, love and appreciate our product and basically, are growing their business.

    Cons

With recent swift and major changes, there is still some of the "old guard" dragging their feet and Management has not been effective at either recreating their perception of the recent changes or moving on. Many systems are still extremely manual and require a reasonable amount of heavy lifting to get the job done.

    Advice to Management

    - Continue to invest in systems and processes to minimize gridlock and manual data management. - Profitability is critical, but create policies that are reasonable and supportive to our existing and current customers. Saving money is important but if done unreasonably we risk just coming across as unprofessional.

I have been working at Enphase Energy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Compensation. Creativity appreciated. Open to new ideas. Dynamic and Agile working environment. Impactful work. Ownership of product. Onsite opportunities.

    Cons

Lack of documentation (few pages of a doc wont suffice to explain tech details to an engineer ). Rushing to get things done ( not always right on the first time ). Overloaded teams. Non existent HR.

    Advice to Management

Quality is paramount on a product that is supposed to work for 10+ yrs, people buy appliance now a days with "buy and forget for decade" thinking, only a future ready, resilient, heavily tested equipment will survive. As per me, our requirements are weak, hardware too loaded and approach old thus Immediate revamp required in design and strategy. Testing has to be rigorous and heavily automated, only a automated... regression can mitigate field issues. Development has to met product quality and usability standards rather than project deadlines. It's ok to launch a delayed great product rather than rushed incomplete one which barely satisfies requirements. HR isn't just HIRING.

I worked at Enphase Energy full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great co-workers, devoted to the mission and customers, who had fun to revolutionize an industry.

    Cons

Unfortunately, that was before we had serious competition and the market commoditized. The old executives had not prepared and were shown the door, while the new guard arrived with consultants in tow. Necessary and painful adjustments followed, while many of the best (and worst) employees decided to go.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie (a/k/a make promises you can't keep) to employees. Don't imagine you can offshore software to India without significant cost (schedule, quality).

I have been working at Enphase Energy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Can work with some of the best visionaries and leaders. Look at the way the company has turned around in 2 years! Its's only a beginning - huge growth ahead. Lots of cool areas to work in the Bangalore office. Excellent benefits for high performance, cannot complain. Nice startup like, open office culture in Bangalore...hear it will be better in the new facility.

    Cons

Work pressure is high, they need to resource adequately. Too many meetings.....but management is trying to control it.

    Advice to Management

Give more attention to training and culture. There is a lot of new people in the company. Get some really good managers, especially in Bangalore office.
