I worked at Enterprise full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You have the opportunity to make decent money while networking with surrounding companies, customers and corporate customers. You will find that your customers treat you much better than the actual company Learn a lot about the business and great training

    Cons

Overworked, no appreciation, lazy upper management and you only promote if you kiss a lot of axx. If You want a life this won’t be the job for you

    Advice to Management

Try to retain your employees by appreciation and not taking away raises

I worked at Enterprise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

excellent operations and business to business sales experience right out of undergrad. Real-world knowledge of revenue and risk management with emphasis on "owning your own business"

    Cons

work-like balance is non-existent. usually working 52+ hour weeks as a manager. Branch operations never end, open at 7am and likely to stay until around 8 to clean cars for the next day. tons of PTO but you can never take it.

    Advice to Management

Hire enough staff to allow your employees to take much needed breaks. Adjust branch hours to normal 9-5.

I have been working at Enterprise full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Growth opportunities, competitive pay, professional sales and service training.

    Cons

Work-life balance, consistent understaffing across all branches (at least in the Orlando group).

    Advice to Management

Continue to follow the plans, but there should be more of an emphasis on employee appreciation and making sure your employees are taken care of. We pride ourselves on doing whatever it takes for our customers, but fall short taking care of one another.

    Pros

Great experience in running a business.

    Cons

Salary is figured on 52 hour work week.

    Advice to Management

You can't preach a great work life balance, and have managers working 52-60 hours a week.

I have been working at Enterprise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fast track to management if your good at sales. Promotions are not hard to come by because so many people leave. Decent pay for what it is.

    Cons

There is no work life balance. You work 10-12 hour days and that only gets worse when you make it to mgmt. Even as a manager you still have to wash cars on a daily basis in a suite. Once you make it to mgmt your pay is based off the bottom line so if your branch doesnt make money, neither do you.

    Advice to Management

Dont give so many blue sky promises.

I have been working at Enterprise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This position allows you the ability to run your own business. Sales, Marketing, Accounting, and Human Resources. The option to move laterally throughout different divisions of the company is very apparent. Thorough training programs for all levels of management.

    Cons

Don't plan on having a work life balance while working for this company. If you are employed in daily rental 55-57 hour work weeks are not uncommon. You will be required to wash cars and work in high temperatures wearing suits.

    Advice to Management

Keep pay structure the same. The company has changed their compensation structure three times in 2 years. Business casual!!!!

I worked at Enterprise full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Because of the nature of the business, employees come and go, so there are always opportunities for advancement, especially with flexibility. The company is always growing, and this adds to the opportunities that you may be eligible for. Lastly, there exists a strong sense of camaraderie since climbing the ranks takes grit and perseverance--they are empathetic to each other's journeys.

    Cons

Many opportunities for advancement are influenced by timing, location, personal relationships, and other considerations, not just performance. Work/life balance is a goal for the company, but has never been witnessed. Many sacrifices and efforts go unnoticed, either intentionally (to avoid compensation or promotions), or unintentionally (indifferent management).

    Advice to Management

"We work hard, and we reward hard work" is a very powerful message. Follow through always. It is difficult to say that ex-employees are simply bitter about their personal circumstance when one of their reasons for leaving is they didn't feel appreciated. Its too much of a pattern for it to be a mere coincidence. Please really take care of your employees, don't just say you do. Thank you for providing me with a... great experience in managing car rentals and truck rentals, and for helping thousands of recent college grads get their foot in the door into the corporate world.
