    Pros

Working at Enterprise truck rental was a great!. I learn a lot been there. Compare to its car rental brother who is the heart of the business. Truck rental you dealt with a lot more business to business structure. I =complete my manager trainee program them and got hired on part time while I finish my school. One of the pros of workinf with truck rental is able to go market meaning you were able to drive around town meetin with business owners and fleet managers and selling the value of renting from the company. Another pro is that since its the company that deliveries you definitely learn a city. Build relationship. Big team player.

    Cons

At enterprise expect to work 12 hours a day. Customer can be trouble some at times and sometimes you will have to go and look for a truck for them. Sometimes you might have to convince them to take a smaller vehicle.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you doing.

I worked at Enterprise Commercial Trucks full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Much better than working for the car division in that you are 90% b2b
Pay is quite good if you make it into the management levels

    Cons

Unrealistic/Arbitrary goals based on national averages.
The company tends to do things really half-assed and expects low-level employees to pickup the slack.
Company is unwilling to carry all of the inventory needed to be competitive in the marketplace and intentionally over-depreciates its vehicles which drives up break-even cost.
Truck Division does not have a clear promotion or career path beyond the branch level.

    Advice to Management

Stop equating goals to national average. Understand that yearly goals and yearly forecasts are different things.

I worked at Enterprise Commercial Trucks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent work life balance. 401K match and Profit Sharing. Get to build relationships with the regular commercial customers.

    Cons

Opportunity for advancement is very slow. Also, don't ever exercise the company's "open door" policy and go over your manager's head to express any serious management style concerns to Upper Management. It will totally backfire and your career will be forever sabotaged. Most employees fear using "open door" policies for that very reason, that your manager will totally throw you under the bus trying to save face for himself. Upper Management will automatically side with your manager and believe everything your manager says defending himself as the gospel truth and then not even ask or want to hear your side of the story. An employee only exercises an "open door" policy when a situation is very grave and serious and feel they have no where else to turn. However, don't ever do it, your reputation will be harmed beyond repair. No matter what you say or do after that point to try and repair your reputation and to prove that your manager completely exaggerated and maybe even lied defending himself will not matter one bit to the Upper Management. Not even if it is five years later. Even if you worked three years for a different manager without any issues or concerns at all, it just will not matter.

    Advice to Management

If an employee exercises the company's "open door" policy about serious management style concerns regarding his manager - don't ask the manager about what is going on and after that then meet with the concerned employee and say I'm siding with your manager on this one before the employee even has a chance to tell his side of the story. Also understand that any learning curve issues are not indicative of a skill set issue.

I have been working at Enterprise Commercial Trucks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You are provided with an opportunity to run your own business and reap the benefits of your own profIts. The company does a good job of allowing you to take ownership of your fleet and growth potential. The truck rental business is at all time high and so long as you put forth the effort, you will never have a problem bringing in new business. There are always opportunities to grow in the company.

    Cons

Poor work-life balance and the rental/customer service business is extremely taxing and stressful. This needs to be something you are passionate about because it will wear you out FAST if you do not buy into it and maintain your motivation.

    Advice to Management

It is hard to say because the nature of the business is pretty brutal. Its not so much management as it is rental and customer service in general. It's tough. You gotta be strong.
