I worked at Enterprise Commercial Trucks full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Because of the nature of the business, employees come and go, so there are always opportunities for advancement, especially with flexibility. The company is always growing, and this adds to the opportunities that you may be eligible for. Lastly, there exists a strong sense of camaraderie since climbing the ranks takes grit and perseverance--they are empathetic to each other's journeys.

    Cons

Many opportunities for advancement are influenced by timing, location, personal relationships, and other considerations, not just performance. Work/life balance is a goal for the company, but has never been witnessed. Many sacrifices and efforts go unnoticed, either intentionally (to avoid compensation or promotions), or unintentionally (indifferent management).

    Advice to Management

"We work hard, and we reward hard work" is a very powerful message. Follow through always. It is difficult to say that ex-employees are simply bitter about their personal circumstance when one of their reasons for leaving is they didn't feel appreciated. Its too much of a pattern for it to be a mere coincidence. Please really take care of your employees, don't just say you do. Thank you for providing me with a great experience in managing car rentals and truck rentals, and for helping thousands of recent college grads get their foot in the door into the corporate world.

I have been working at Enterprise Commercial Trucks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great learning tool to develop sales skills

    Cons

They pile on to many administrative duties to really dig in and gain traction in sales like you would like. The objective is to close deals not to be bogged down by administrative duties you can pay someone else $10/hour to do. I get it, Enterprise wouldn't have gotten to where it is today if it didn't work but administrative duties are not for me.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employees strengths and outsource weaknesses. I didn't sign up to do callbacks and schedule maintenance, I signed up to close deals, put people in trucks, and provide great customer service.

I worked at Enterprise Commercial Trucks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent selling techniques taught and applied

    Cons

Horrible base pay with little commission. Working 60+ hours a week, possibly 6 days.

    Advice to Management

Treat branch employees as the backbone of the company since that is what they are. Do not look to discipline, but to coach and teach those with opportunities. Firing people doesn't help you succeed, it only shows your shortcomings as a leader to not get the full potential of your employees.

    Pros

Enterprise Truck Rental offers a fun environment, the opportunity to work with local area businesses, a variety of work tasks, and ample opportunity for field marketing.

    Cons

You might find yourself worn out. Long hours (although much less and more consistent than other Enterprise branches) and a very competitive environment.

    Advice to Management

Keep developing your employees with the Management Trainee Program. Encourage a more open communication system between upper management and trainees.

    Pros

    Business Knowledge
    B2B Sales
Decent Pay as long as you have built up many closed accounts

    Cons

    Long Hours
    Typical Corporate Politics
Big Company where people at top are disconnected from people at the bottom

    Advice to Management

Promote based on individual performance, not on how current branch is doing

    Pros

If your willing to lose all morals, you can climb the latter really fast.

    Cons

The company wants you to fit into their brainwashing, and if you don't then you will be outcast and not get promoted.

    Advice to Management

    Become a trustworthy organization.

    Pros

Working at Enterprise truck rental was a great!. I learn a lot been there. Compare to its car rental brother who is the heart of the business. Truck rental you dealt with a lot more business to business structure. I =complete my manager trainee program them and got hired on part time while I finish my school. One of the pros of workinf with truck rental is able to go market meaning you were able to drive around town meetin with business owners and fleet managers and selling the value of renting from the company. Another pro is that since its the company that deliveries you definitely learn a city. Build relationship. Big team player.

    Cons

At enterprise expect to work 12 hours a day. Customer can be trouble some at times and sometimes you will have to go and look for a truck for them. Sometimes you might have to convince them to take a smaller vehicle.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you doing.
