I worked at Enterprise full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you have a competitive spirit and enjoy challenging yourself to do better every day, this performance driven environment is a good fit. Opportunities to learn new skills and earn personal growth. Clearly defined expectations. Guaranteed 40 hours and good benefit package.

    Cons

If you're not a self starter this might not be for you. Contact Center employees are often the last to learn about new programs or initiatives.

    Advice to Management

Improve communication across all lines of business. Change is not a problem; failure to communicate change to all levels is. Employees may be more engaged if they were aware of everything the company is involved in. Transparency and inclusion would be good concepts to keep in mind.

I worked at Enterprise full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They give you in depth training on sales and management. Upper management is friendly and willing to talk with you and help you. You meet a lot of new people and coworkers are young, usually in their twenties.

    Cons

Just a heads up, this position is paid hourly. So the salary they quote during the interview process is comprised of working a lot of overtime. During the hiring process they convince you that there are many opportunities for advancement. In order to advance there is a matrix of goals that you have to meet three out of six months. But when you become eligible to advance there are no positions that are open so then you have to re-qualify. I met people that had been working in the same position for three years that were still trying to advance. There is no work life balance with the average work week around 55 hours and often working seven days a week. I knew people that worked 14-21 days without a day off. Often times you are not given time to take a lunch break during your work day so you will be working an 11 hour day. Enterprise boasts that customer service is number one. But many branch employees deliberately mislead customers for personal gain to meet Enterprises goals because that is the only way they can be promoted. Some of the unethical behavior is adding protection when the customer did not ask for it which leads to the customer being overcharged. Often times branch employees will lie to the customers so they can meet Enterprise's branch goals. Expect to be understaffed and overworked because this is how the branches make their profit centers better. Branch managers are often trying to control their costs and purposely do not want employees to advance because that will cost them more money out of their branch budget. Also expect to be moved around from branch to branch. It is not uncommon to work at 4-5 branches within your first year. You will be washing and cleaning cars because the branch again is trying to control costs so they may not hire a car prep person. So buy cheap clothes because they will get dirty and torn. Just know that the retention rate is very low.

    Advice to Management

Just because Branch Managers are great at selling does not mean that they are a good manager. I would recommend they give managers more training on communicating with their employees in an empathetic and understanding manner. They need to be more supportive and care about their employees instead of managing by intimidation. Your sales would improve greatly if you had well rested employees that were not overworked and time to take a lunch. If the employee is feeling good that trickles down to the Enterprise customer. Your military business model is outdated and needs to be reinvented! A lot of employees do not report unethical behavior because the branch managers are unethical themselves. So when unethical behavior is reported nothing is done about it.

    Pros

The company in general is solid, and the co-workers are amazing people. This was the true highlight of my workday.

    Cons

The work expectations were a bit demanding. Employees are told that it is fairly easy to get promoted, but management continually changes what the employee needs to work on in order to delay career development in order for them to focus on other candidates.

    Advice to Management

Create a CLEAR development plan/path so that employees can actually achieve results, rather than watch the "favorites" from the department succeed.

    Pros

Always had work to do! Average to decent benefits overall, including vacation and PTO at 5 years of employment, though.

    Cons

Toxic managers driving away employees but upper management refuses to eliminate them and resolve the issue. No tuition reimbursement. Little room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Retain top talent by eliminating toxic management.

    Pros

Privately owned, healthy work-life balance, feeling of family and good company culture. Lots of promotion opportunities for hard workers.

    Cons

Requires business dress code for many positions. Business-casual for Fridays. Also, there are several work from home opps or other areas in the company that have a more casual dress code.

    Pros

Enterprise as a company has been absolutely amazing. It's a fun work environment while training and developing you into a business professional. The company is not a stepping stone for other jobs, it's a career that you can get promoted and make a lot of money quickly if you are engaged and motivated.

    Cons

Work/life balance can be difficult to some individuals. I have a family (3 kids), and as long as I communicate with my manager about time off, there has never been any issues. Communication goes a long way, and workers/managers are here to help.

    Advice to Management

Never stop learning and reaching out to Mentors/successful people. That is how you become more successful.
