I have been working at Envestnet full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great stability and products with a lot of company growth opportunity.

    Cons

Bigger company with a finance overtone, so slightly conservative.

I worked at Envestnet (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good balance between work and life. Supervisors are very nice and supportive. It's easy to build a good relationship with your colleagues.

    Cons

The salary for entry-level jobs is relatively low given the living cost in Chicago. Communications between different groups is not that smooth.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest to consider raising the salary for entry-level jobs so as to keep employees.

I have been working at Envestnet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They're the largest TAMP out there. They're the best at what they do. Everyone there is nice and willing to help each other.

    Cons

They're in downtown Chicago. Can sometimes be disorganized in the implementation of things. 401(k) isn't very competitive with others. Pay a little less than others.

    Advice to Management

    Coordinate roll outs better.

I have been working at Envestnet full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Large office with a lot of different teams in the same floor makes collaboration easy. Company is growing at a very fast pace leading to advancement opportunities. Most employees are easy to talk to including the C-level management team.

    Cons

Promotion and compensation. The salaries are not bad but promotions are based on seniority. Raises are only given during promotions or at the beginning of the year but if you were promoted or moved departments in the last quarter of the year you are not eligible.

    Advice to Management

Employees need to be valued better. Promotions need to be merit based and not seniority based. Crosstraining between departments is very difficult to get and moving between departments is nearly impossible unless you have the backing of a VP or higher.

I have been working at Envestnet full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of work to stay engaged in the job.
Smart people, want to see the company do well.
Many new technologies being evaluated and deployed to keep skills up to date with the changing technologies.
    Flexible schedules

    Cons

International team, which creates a lot of meetings at all times of day/night.
Work/Home life balance is almost impossible to maintain
Lack of commitment to Funding Operational best practices (but improving here)

    Advice to Management

Take the importance of infrastructure as a key piece of providing a "Four 9" platform. The cost upfront will be recouped with a stronger reputation for a solid platform.

    Pros

Upward mobility, sense of community, growing quickly, and opportunities to enrich and advance your career.

    Cons

Some teams are still trying to work out the kinks to run smoothly- work in progress.

    Advice to Management

Use more discretion in hiring processes and enforcing the 90 day probation period for those not performing.

    Pros

Envestnet is fostering a good corporate culture and is a growing company. The managers are all hard working and fair.

    Cons

Nothing moves in a straight line. There are four teams and three supervisors which must work on and approve every update.

I worked at Envestnet as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome work environment with people who really care about each other. You can always go and ask someone for help and they would find the time to work with you.

    Cons

It took a while to receive feedback on the work that you submitted. Sometimes the IT department was not always able to help you with problems immediately.

    Advice to Management

The work environment is fantastic and is something that you should pride yourself on! Keep hiring people who are passionate and resourceful.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Envestnet as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great folks to work with. Good working environment.

    Cons

Seems there was some animosity created when I departed, although my work was very near completion and no offer to extend, budget constraints.

    Advice to Management

This organization is pre-eminent in its business space. Management though needs to be far more visible and interactive with staff.

I worked at Envestnet full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A growing dynamic company allowing for growth potential. The company grew exponentially while I was there which created more and more jobs that gave existing employees a chance to learn and do something new. Management was always great to work with, listened to you and mentored you.

    Cons

It's a sales focused business that continuously cut costs through lay-offs. restructuring and gradually moving operations depts to its office in India. The company tends to keep departments under staffed. Requesting more staff is a hard sell.

    Advice to Management

Keep depts well staffed so no one is overworked with their own workload or doubly burdened when others are sick or on vacation.
