I worked at Envestnet (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good balance between work and life. Supervisors are very nice and supportive. It's easy to build a good relationship with your colleagues.

    Cons

The salary for entry-level jobs is relatively low given the living cost in Chicago. Communications between different groups is not that smooth.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest to consider raising the salary for entry-level jobs so as to keep employees.

I worked at Envestnet (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -#1 asset management platform provider.
-Good balance between life and work
    -wholesaler of investment manager provider

    Cons

-Leadership to focused on growth rather than stakeholder needs, i.e. compromising excellent client service.
-Company lacks innovation, not flexible, slow to adapt to change, extremely rigid
    -Unable to retain talent
-Poor monetary compensation and worst bonus structure in the industry

    Advice to Management

Business model is inadequate to meet the challenges facing the wealth management advisory industry. Too much leverage and not enough customization offerings for an ever-changing client landscape.

    Pros

Competitive salary, nice people, easy to talk with others in current location. Overall, they really try to make everyone feel like they're part of a bigger picture.

    Cons

Knowing how to and who to reach out to for help. Other locations sometimes not as nice and understanding if you're new to the company.

    Advice to Management

Employee personal development is important. Helps keep moral high.

I have been working at Envestnet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They're the largest TAMP out there. They're the best at what they do. Everyone there is nice and willing to help each other.

    Cons

They're in downtown Chicago. Can sometimes be disorganized in the implementation of things. 401(k) isn't very competitive with others. Pay a little less than others.

    Advice to Management

    Coordinate roll outs better.

I have been working at Envestnet full-time

    Pros

Company growing at a rapid rate. Great technology. PTO has improved.

    Cons

need better talent, need to be willing to pay for better talent, most unorganized financial firm in my experience, lousy performance incentive, need a better business model to sustain growth, need more business analysts keeping up with industry trends, departments are totally disjointed

    Advice to Management

If you expect employees to go above and beyond for clients there should be better performance incentive. Never worked for a financial firm where you're expected to work 60 hours with terrible performance bonuses. Need a restructuring of teams for departments to work more cohesively.
