I worked at Envisage Information Systems full-time

    Pros

Coworkers are friendly and great to work with

    Cons

Senior leadership has terrible communication. Told us that everything was going well until all of a sudden large groups of employees are being laid off without warning.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie about the status of the company.

I have been working at Envisage Information Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Laid-back culture, genuine sense of camaraderie between team members

    Cons

Less-than-transparent working relationship with parent company, lots of bureaucracy to wade through

    Advice to Management

Make the Care & Feeding process more involved for employees who don't feel like they're gaining proficiency fast enough.

I worked at Envisage Information Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Ability to work from home.
    Flex hours.
    Satisfactory pay and benefits.
Some really great people. A lot of knowledge from which to learn.
Interesting projects. Interesting software design and architecture.
Several offices in the region from which to work.

    Cons

    No opportunity for advancement.
No benefit to working hard and long hours vs those who did not.
Was once a great place to work. The company was bought out by a former client and things went downhill for employees. Poor business decisions led to loss of sales which led to several rounds of layoffs. It's not a safe place to work right now.

    Advice to Management

Diversify product offerings within your area of specialty (too many eggs in too few baskets).
Get rid of the flat organizational structure. You need to have people in positions of accountability and employees need to have a source of guidance, someone leading the way for them. Reward those employees who give extra time and effort.

    Pros

Culture is very nice. People are very open and honest. No hierarchy to worry about. Ideas are heard and valued.

    Cons

Driven by one major client whose values do not align with the companies. Communication from management is not clear even though they try to share it seems like they don't listen to the questions. Compensation is not aligned with the type of work or positions.

    Advice to Management

Need to be better listeners. Don't commit to something that seems difficult to achieve.

    Pros

The people are genuinely interested in helping each other. No one is going to step on you to get ahead. I absolutely loved my job there prior to mid-2016.

    Cons

The autonomy that made Envisage so unique is being taken away. They let go of people with good hearts and good work ethic and retained some who are nothing but selfish and manipulative. This is causing the culture to deteriorate.

I have been working at Envisage Information Systems full-time

    Pros

The people here are generally the best you will ever meet. Most are very willing to lend a hand when needed in just about any way possible. Also there is generally a sense of great friendship and loyalty to each other. This is something that I h ave not witnessed in any other place I have worked before.

    Cons

Leadership has been very shaky for the past couple of years and some decisions have left many people questioning if it is time to move on or if the Company will even be around in the near future. This is also mainly due to the corporate buyout and subsequent takeover of the former client and now parent company. That alone has contributed to most of the churn and turmoil that the company has been witnessing.

    Advice to Management

Give those that want to move to a new position a chance to move, it might lead to them staying longer.

I worked at Envisage Information Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Relaxed environment
    - Smart co-workers
    - interesting problems

    Cons

Allows individuals that don't produce to stick around (too many chances).
Focuses on meaningless, feel good endeavors rather than producing something to sell.
Poor business acumen leading to company being taken advantage of multiple times.
Extremely long hours with no real benefit.
Lack of transparency / dropping bombshells at the last possible moment.

    Advice to Management

Take a step back and focus on what matters, making software. Instead of wasting time and effort pretending to be Google, push towards making something that can be sold.
