I have been working at Envision Healthcare full-time

    Pros

The opportunity for growth is excellent.

    Cons

There is quite a bit of favoritism that takes place....Family and Friends ties
Language barriers in "Certain" departments (Collections) to be exact.
    Not enough time for lunch.
Very little freedom to feel like an adult.
I would not recommend applying in the Collections department. My WORST experience EVER!!!

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring all of your friends, and showing fa favoritism. There is a huge turn around in Collections due to poor management.....

  3. "Poor experience, high clinician turnover, several company buyouts over the last few years."

I have been working at Envision Healthcare full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent health insurance coverage for individuals.

    Cons

No performance evaluations for clinicians and therefore, no raises or bonuses were provided across the board for NPs/PAs the last few years regardless of productivity and performance. No incentives or opportunities for career growth.

Lack of communication between clinical staff and management. Advanced practice providers (APPs) and MDs are regularly disrespected by management as a large number of Envision managers and administration have little to no clinical experience or exposure and lack the knowledge as to how a healthcare practice runs.

Management is based out-of-state and our in-state practice laws and regulations are continuously disregarded when company policies are implemented. *Upper management and HR will consistently side with practice managers and operations as opposed to clinicians regardless of how much documentation and evidence you present in support of your case. I’ve seen this happen first hand to multiple APPs and MDs.*

Our patients have noticed the downfall since Envision took over despite how much we’ve tried to hide it. United healthcare had a fall out with Envision in 2018, which resulted in discontinuation of treatment coverage for even the most critically ill patients with a United plan due to Envision’s legal issues- devastating.

Our practice has been bought out several times over the last few years with eventual Envision takeover. Since that time, providers who’ve been with our practice for even decades have left and the turnover rate has skyrocketed. The company was bought out by KKR last year and it is expected to only worsen.

I’m searching for a position with a different company after 9 wonderful, rewarding years of practice prior to the Envision takeover. I encourage any MD, NP, PA to consider other employment opportunities before signing with Envision.

    Advice to Management

Restructure the entire company, communicate with your healthcare providers, care about our patients, etc etc etc.

I have been working at Envision Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Company was a good company to work for in Clearwater until the merger with AmSurg and Sheridan. We had a great team that worked well together. Decent pay for Florida.

    Cons

AmSurg and Sheridan took over and all brains and common sense went out the window. Cannot understand how or why Sheridan gets to dictate how this company is run. Now we have a conflict with United Healthcare that is jeopardizing our very existence. We are losing accounts left and right.
One reason why we were sold to KKR. Still not going to end well for this company if we make it through the next ear or two.
Clearwater office had more accounts than the other 2 divisions, but was forced to relinquish Alliance accounts to the north and west to balance the workload. That was a huge mistake and HCA is demanding all Alliance accounts be transferred back to Clearwater. This company is in serious trouble with poor leadership concerned only with filling their pockets and buying multiple vacation homes.
Local leadership is dominated by bullies and blowhards. Do not bother speaking to HR as they are too busy polishing their tiaras to conduct any type of investigation.
No opportunities for advancement if you have any ambitions or a pulse. Only followers are promoted. Run far away from this company, the culture is toxic. Numerous employees are seeking other jobs. 2019 turnover will be sky high.

    Advice to Management

Sell AmSurg and Sheridan to HCA. Hire EM experts to run this business as anesthesia experts are failing us badly. Outsource HR. Any PEO would do a better job.
