I have been working at Epicor Software full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very friendly environment. Expectations are medium to high. Compensations are good.
Flexible hours unless you are working in client care then you can be working crazy hours.
I like working here because you always learn something new.

    Cons

We're not always exposed to what offices in the states are up to.

    Pros

The salary was decent. They had a nice caf. The building was conveniently located. Had a gym in the building.

    Cons

Toxic work environment. Stay away. They don't really care about employee training or employee advancement. I was given the run around to find answers to questions my colleagues didn't have time to answer.

I worked at Epicor Software (More than 10 years)

    Pros

People are nice. Everyone is trying to do their best within their limits. The new building is shiny and very open. Hoping this would create an open communication atmosphere.

    Cons

Still a disconnected system. And even bigger disconnected teams. Sick leave. Burn outs. High turnover. When people describe how they feel about working at Epicor, the word 'vomit' is not uncommon.

    Advice to Management

Look into pattern of high turnover; evaluate existing analyst and management staff; take anonymous surveys; determine why people are so unhappy and get the right people and processes involved to make things better. Happy = productive.

    Pros

    Very good environment

    Friendly team

A new philosophy of the company is in place, it seems the near future will be exciting having the opportunity to learn and improve new skills

    Cons

Formal training: the company is investing actually in some training programs, however as a new employee the first weeks could be difficult.

Internal communication: due to the internal changes, new roles, etc. communication is not well transmitted across teams... definitely the company needs to improve.

I worked at Epicor Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

good benefits, good salary, good referral program, onsite caf,

    Cons

Unqualified people without integrity or ethics being promoted to management positions. too much restructuring and layoffs. Management tends to play favors with employees. no ethics when recruiting or terminating employees. little respect towards employees. everything is about billable hours, and it's the only way to qualify for a big bonus at the end of the year. every minute needs to be accounted for and so most times your billing clients inaccurately and management encourages this so they can make their target and get their big year end bonuses too.

Employees overloaded with work, new employees expected to catch on without proper training.

Expected to work more than 40 hours a week (close to 50-60 hours) and not paid for overtime. training on topics set outside of normal work hours so that you're giving more hours to the company, which are not billable.

    Advice to Management

promote qualified people with ethics and integrity to management positions.
if a team lead or manager is missing for several weeks or months, reconsider how you perform evaluations and who you rely on for information. some employees are jealous and dont like to see newer employees perform better than them.

I worked at Epicor Software full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people at Epicor are great. There are certain departments that are well run but others that are a disaster. The cafteria area is nice and the building is generally in good shape and clean. Location is good if you live in the West-Island already (for Montreal office). Benefits package is pretty good.

    Cons

-Avoid any job in the Professional services department. They want you to work free overtime every week. They grade all their employees based on the billable work they do - which is out of the employees control.
-Limited flexibility and the company's work-life balance philosophy is regressing.
-Company is not on the cutting edge of technology. Many products still run on old languages and they are forced to maintain them.
-A lot of employees have been there for many years which means advancing for new employees or younger employees is near impossible.

    Advice to Management

Give a little and you will get a lot back. Constantly squeeze everyone for every drop of blood and eventually they will all be demoralized.

I worked at Epicor Software full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This is a big enough organization to offer opportunities for growth. Very fast paced and high energy. Epicor, formerly NSB and formerly STS, is a great local employer for West-Island residents. The offices are nice. The atrium/cafeteria is gorgeous. Parking is easy.

    Cons

Clients are stressed. Retail is tough. So often stressful place to work. And difficult to make clients happy. There have been a lot of changes in the Pointe-Claire offices since NSB became STS. A lot of lay offs so many of the people who have been there a long time are "tired".
