I have been working at Equator Business Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They provide free snacks and ok benefits. Lots of nice people to work with in LA office

    Cons

It can be difficult to find advancement from some departments. There seems to be a lot of disconnect between management and everyone else. Since being bought by altisource a lot of perks (such as yearly raises) have disappeared.

    Advice to Management

Try a little bit harder to make it so that your employees feel like they are valuable and included.

I have been working at Equator Business Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are good people that work at Equator. Benefits are OK but a bit more expensive than other companies. Offices are nice with free snacks in the kitchen. Equator is a fine place to work if you need a job but not as a career booster.

    Cons

Biggest con = old technology within a shrinking market and leadership that has a history of failing. New employees are issued old (recycled) laptops most of which do not have the horsepower to run needed applications. The coding languages are dated and not used widely by any other software/high tech company. The biggest issue, if you are a technologist, is that working for Equator will hurt you the next time you look for a job. The tech used at Equator is, in a word, junk. Having to explain in an interview why you are not working with the latest technology is a challenge. Its a fine place to work as a interim job until you find another but career advancement (or salary advancement) is impossible while working for Equator. This is one company you will not be proud to have listed on your resume.

    Advice to Management

Stay with Equator...do no go to another company and fail there as well.

    Pros

Chris Saitta no longer works here

    Cons

Still a lot of corrupt Sr. management. Unfair hiring and firing. Still the friends and family are the ruling.

    Advice to Management

After years of hiring and firing, Chris Saitta got his. Employees have been complaining for years that he had no clue what he was doing. Blamed others for his own incompetence. Karma is something to fear!

    Pros

Opportunity to achieve amazing things quickly and to be apart of a company that is not talking about what it wants do but is actually doing it. The employees below the executive suite are all amazing people that care deeply about the work they are performing. The executives are also good people but they are on a mission and are unapologetic in the pursuit of that mission.

    Cons

This depends on your mindset. If expect to work 9-5 and have a company hold your hand then this is not the right place for you. You will work hard... you will work long hours... you will sacrifice personal time. Benefits could use some beefing up.

    Advice to Management

Step back sometimes from the tunnel vision and give back to those that are enabling your success.

I worked at Equator Business Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent Pay, Free snacks, game room, some talented people to work along with, opportunity to work for a financial company that services some of nations largest banks.

    Cons

Tons of work, no work life balance, expected to put in long hours on many occasions, also have to provide after hours support after you have put in 9 hours of regular work so you practically end up putting in close to 13-15 hours or sometimes even more on several occasions. The expectations set are completely unrealistic and needs to be done tonight or tomorrow thing. There is lot of dirty politics played around. Miscommunication exist between teams. The bonuses paid are not even mentioning and it is not a part of your offer so yes they can stop it any moment. The monthly medical premium is high. Also worthwhile mentioning few years ago it used to be a place that resembled like an army base, but that has changed a little and it is casual environment now. Lot of folks have quit in the recent past or some were fired. This is not the company if you are looking for some great benefits.

    Advice to Management

Try and make the office environment more friendly and casual. Provide career advancement opportunities to your employees who give their blood to your company. Provide some more benefits to make the employees happy.

I worked at Equator Business Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Low level employees are friendly and as supportive as they can be while still being able to deal with crushing blows from middle and upper management
    - They pay decently (but not really once you consider how much personal time you have to sacrifice)

    Cons

Everything - the culture is terrible - it's an us versus them mentality between middle/upper management and everyone else. The upper management is totally out of touch with reality and expect their employees to give up impossible amounts of personal time for little to no reward. There is not much opportunity to move up and lots of nepotism when the opportunity does come up. Working at this company was literally the worse year of my life.

    Advice to Management

To really take all of these negative reviews to heart and make some changes (this will never ever happen though as long as long as their CEO (Chris Siatta) is in charge.
