    Free membership
Discounts on training, spa, shop, and sometimes food
    Good customer service experience

    Cons

    High steaks

Members can be difficult and mean
Say that they will move you up in the company but don't give you any guidance

    Advice to Management

Have veteran employees help new employees instead of comparing them

I have been working at Equinox Fitness full-time

    Pros

Access to a great facility to work out in.

    Cons

Management sells the dream to you when they hire you. Truthfully you’ll probably only be earning 200-500$ every two weeks for the first 6-12 months. The job is entirely commission based. Management tries to dissuade you from having a second job too. You also probably will have next to no health or dental throughout your entire career here.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring 35+ trainers at one club

I worked at Equinox Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Young, energetic group of people. Cool environment with a great product. Fun to work at with good perks like access to the other clubs.

    Cons

You don't get 2 days off consecutively. For example, you'll get Thurs/Sat off of Fri/Sun. During the last week of the month, you're required to work every day of the week and long hours.

    Advice to Management

Allow for MAs to take time off so they don't get burnt out. Being on all the time is exhausting and is probably why there's a high turn over rate.

I have been working at Equinox Fitness (More than a year)

    Pros

    Education, facilities, bonuses, co-workers, membership

    Cons

    Long hours, low pay, unstable

    Advice to Management

Increase pay... You cannot survive off of this job until at least 1 year after ramping, until then you will be at the gym 10+ hours a day making pretty much min wage if that. There is no work/life balance possible if you truly want to be successful here.

I worked at Equinox Fitness full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Nice clubs, some nice people.

    Cons

No work life balance. Although they preach it to their customers, don't even think you are going to get any time off. No vacations, no holidays. They are desperate for managers, and will hire weak and inexperienced individuals just to fill a seat.
Best advise to a trainer is use them for 95 sessions, and take the rest of the clients as in homes.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing

    Pros

Great environment, very nurturing, fun, energetic, clean, great co workers and members. Management was hands off if your job was being done correctly.

    Cons

As far as cons go there were none to speak of. This is the kind of environment you would want to work in. Everyone was treated accordingly.

    Advice to Management

Everyone has a different way of how they are motivated. Finding what motivates people and using it to motivate them constructively.
