The benefits package provided by the parent company, Equity Residential, is very good if you do not mind sharing a lot of very personal information.
Senior management constantly changed the direction of the company - from a sales perspective it was focus on this sector for one month and then focus on a completely unrelated sector the next month; all while being told the sales cycle is 3-6 months long. Where is the sense in that approach?
There is an inner circle of protected people who do not produce, in fact some lose money for the company, who keep very high paying jobs; yet good and hard working employees are let go during the many layoffs each year.
Very toxic environment to work in, if you want to be happy.
Advice to Management
Learn to treat people with dignity and respect. Know that your reputation in the industry is not a good one and you gain more in life & business by being fair, kind and not resorting to yelling during a conversation when you do not agree with them. It is sad when within your own organization people constantly have to apologize and make excuses on your behalf for your behavior.
