I worked at Erachem Comilog full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Small company, niche product market. Very little to say that is positive

    Cons

Management is mentally abusive to employees. Frequent swearing and insults. No respect for personnel, as upper management will e-mail or call your cell phone instead of just coming in your office, which is just a few steps down the hall. No effort to transfer knowledge, as people are magically expected to know everything. Environment is also very dismal and negative; the culture is one of the glass always being half empty. Nothing is ever good enough. Even record profit should have been an even higher record. Horrible place to work.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect, and understand that there is a difference between criticism and constructive criticism.

I worked at Erachem Comilog full-time

    Pros

Small plant with many different manganese based products, Chemical engineering, company owned by French mining group Eramet, very challenging activity

    Cons

Poor management, mining is a cycle industry so there are a lot of up and downs that prevent the company to grow as it should be

    Advice to Management

I do not have any advice to give to the management of Erachem Comilog, I disagree with the way the company was managed, pushing for results, do not care about people

I worked at Erachem Comilog full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

My brothers and sisters in production and maintenance. Was a great little company and could be that way again if the owners and upper management would invest where needed.

    Cons

Top management and foreign ownership. The French don't care about anything about the company except for the bottom line. Upper management in Baltimore does not try to change this.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your workforce and invest in your facilities. Too many good employees and too much experience have left due to the way the company has been managed. My friends there are still unhappy.

I worked at Erachem Comilog as an intern

    Pros

Nice place to learn and they allowed for free reins to grow as an engineer while still having people to look to.

    Cons

Union contract negotiation year so it was a little tense in the plant. Overall, no one placed me in a hot seat position and was cool with me being there most of the time.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing you and keep making product. Overall my experience was grand and I learned far more than I ever imagined while there.
