      Pros

Cool projects, great people and a new way to help the world. I really like it here.

      Cons

Sometimes the FAA can be a bit of a drag on projects, but we actually have a really great relationship with them.

      Technical Writers - Beware

      Pros

There are a lot of really great people who took me in as an outsider from out of town. I made great friendships that will last a lifetime.

      Cons

I worked here for a year and there was a lack of transparency regarding my contract. I'm from way out of town and was given a few extra dollars per hour as compensation for finding my own lodging for the first 3 months. The agreement was I would do this and afterwards get to work from home with periodic trips to southern Oregon (once per quarter) for the duration of the project I was on. It didn't work out like this. When I arrived in Central Point the group in the dept I was in was glaringly unprepared for me. They didn't even have the software we had talked about on the phone nor anyone with the skills to use it. This entire project quickly got placed on me and I found myself doing tasks that were completely outside of the realm of the job description (all of the heavy lifting). To make matters worse, management told me that the company's budget had shifted so I would be unable to work from home after our 3 month agreement until this got sorted out. Not my problem or part of the deal. This company kicked and screamed to honor their agreement until finally I was sent home with a laptop. They were reasonable about my visits to Central Point for the first few months that I was paying for but then in 2020 they fell behind on the project and started demanding that I visit once per month. Again, not part of the deal and I was paying for these trips out of my own pocket. The extra money tacked on to my hourly pay did NOT cover this- not even close. Finally I told them 'no' to a second trip in the same month and they let me go with no warning.

      Pros

Friendly environment. Great people to work with. Very proud to be a member serving the orange fleet. Best product in the industry.

      Cons

Very top heavy. Bad decisions made in the past. Huge debt load. Sinking ship. Often layoffs. Need to eject sooner than later.

      Eroding Leadership and Poor Decisionmaking

Apr 28, 2016 - Director in McMinnville, OR

      Pros

Great people and fulfilling work environment.

      Cons

Poor decision-making at the corporate level by executive team that lacks an understanding of part 135 passenger operations. New president is pushing out experienced part 135 employees to hire his buddies. Lose of corporate knowledge is dooming their future. Airworthiness Compliance and Safety team quit en mass last summer-fall due to production/finance pressures eroding flight safety. More key and essential employees quitting this spring.

      Pros

Great people, great product, travel the world, work is exciting and fun.

      Cons

! the culture has changed to take from the employee's and give to the portland senior management team. the senior team continues to fly 1st class no matter how broke the company is. they have done nothing but take from the employee, longevity bonus', 401k, the company can't survive with the current management. they spend millions trying to sell a/c while the operations dept pays for it. then when operations get slow they have to cut back and lay off. Who moves a corporate office 300 miles from it's core? they really have no clue what makes Erickson Air Crane tick! nor do they seem to want to.
