    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The best thing the company has to offer to employees is great health insurance benefits, this is what keeps people working there.

    Cons

The company has failed to secure new contracts, so the culture is you never know from one day to the next if you will have a job! Management is very uncaring of their employees and will layoff fulltime employees to hire contractors to come in and take their jobs to save money. Ericsson also has a policy of 80/20 which means 80% of the work has to be done offshore and they move to push everything the can to India so this displaces American workers. They require employees to log hours they do not work and if you do not do this you are placed on a list to be laid off.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so secretive and be honest to employees. When you tell the employees they are not going to be any workforce reductions you should keep to your word instead of trying to be secretive and letting people go a few at a time to hide what you are doing.

    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great work life balance. Excellent benefits.

    Cons

Lay offs. Outsourcing. Inconsisent messages to employees about long term commitments.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees the truth. You cant look them in the eye and tell them how great they are doing and how we dont need to be concerned about losing our jobs because you are going to hire contracters to help. Be honest. Be loyal. Because thay is what your employees are and we expect that in return.

I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Ericsson is a global company which provides a wide variety of career paths, excellent diversity in their leadership team and workforce, and truly best in class employee benefits.

    Cons

Being a global company, career growth may include global relocation which is both a benefit and a challenge. You don't have to move to grow your career, but it is a factor that could impact your career path and/or professional growth.

    Advice to Management

Stabilize the work environment (minimize the chaos) while going through down business cycles and/or major changes.
