    Pros

Great work/life balance and benefits. Good pay.

    Cons

Lack of accountability and focused corporate strategy.

    Advice to Management

The great companies have the foresight and vision to make significant strategic changes while they are climbing the revenue curve and don't wait until they are forced by the market while revenue and profits are declining.

I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I had a good boss and he was approachable... it depends upon your line manager as to your overall experience with the company.

    Cons

Easy to get pigeonholed into a role and eliminated when that project slows or is offshored.
Used to have stellar health benefits but that has been cut drastically in 2018
Frequent layoffs, company is in a downward spiral and cost cuttings are in full swing
Policy of quarterly, if not more frequently, laying people off and you never know when you are next.

    Advice to Management

Find your core business again... focus on it and do that well.

    Pros

Benefits are good, everyone is busy counting their benefits not dedicated to work.

    Cons

Quality of Supervisors is not up to mark. I have questioned how they deserve the position in first place.

    Advice to Management

Think about your managers and directors.

    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Global perspective, great talent and solid products. Pro/Con Benefits were amazing prior to 2018 but now industry standard.

    Cons

Questionable choices in acquisitions are haunting the company and management is still trying to recover. Necessary layoffs went way to far (by 50%). Well placed Managers of poor performing or dismantled groups reassigned and promoted to business areas they didn't understand or manage well. Managers are ineffective and fearful of current group head. Revolving door management, good ones leave or fired, bad one stay. Products they believe are the future are dragging the company down while the core money makers are left to languish without proper support. Over-complicated business and customer management systems.

    Advice to Management

Not being a CEO or trained for that level of management it would be difficult to make a recommendation. I can say that the Former CEO really knew how to rally investors and customers, this one not so much. The CEO needs of this company require a strong balance sales and tech to promote the company and its products.
Was the former CEO perfect...no but he was a man of the people and knew how to sell. As a numbers man you know the bottom line and that is important however more often than not the bottom line is easier to manage when you are actually selling products.
Another example of how Management can take a great company with a positive future to something not that great.

I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good employee-centric policies. Free-movement of roles and geography achieved within this truly global (multi-cultural/multi-ethnic) organization

    Cons

Software side of business is semi-lacking vision to grow since company is network-centric in it vision for growth and restoration.
Every party to any decision runs like veto. Flip-side to it is that company is driven a culture of perception as against company of performance. This slows down the company's ability to respond to business opportunities.

For ex: if an employee is fit to do a certain job, unless all 10-12 people involved have a 'good image' of that employee, s/he wouldnt be a given a chance even though they are best-fit to successfully do that job for the organization, very organization that pays them salaries to do that job.

    Advice to Management

Run software business as if it were your only business so that you could make maximum revenue and customer account penetration.

I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to hone inward looking PowerPoint skills while ignoring the market and customer opportunities. I understand that it used to be a great company to work for, but no longer.

    Cons

Short-sighted, continuous re-orgs, nepotism, and arrogance. They don't have a strategy and haven't for years. Nortel was their saving grace in 2010, but that was only a bandage covering severe wounds and internal bleeding. The future is bleak for Ericsson, unfortunately.

    Advice to Management

They wouldn't listen anyway, so what's the use. My prediction: by 2020, Ericsson will be 40,000 employee company only focused on Radio. The bane of Ericsson's failure and inability to execute is its arrogance and the continuous reshuffling of tired and stale executives. And values? Please! -- SEC investigation for corruption charges, and disparaging African Americans in previous positions.
