    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Excellent benefits package, good pay

    Cons

I was in installation so you go where the work is. I spent at one time on average 26 nights out of the month in a hotel somewhere.

    Advice to Management

Have an employee suggestion program that actually gets things done.

    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Ericsson has some of the best benefits of any company out there, seriously gold star. Their pay was comparable or better than other companies. My coworkers were smart and diligent; it was a good environment for achieving results and learning new technologies.

    Cons

They made some very bad moves, especially in the Media division. They bought part of Microsoft to enhance their position in the IPTV space and then let that management team run wild. They overspent on a next generation cloud based IPTV platform, which over promised features and undelivered on results. It was too late to the market and didn’t deliver much over the previous products.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing the right things now; they are trying to get the business and finances in order. Unfortunately there were so many mistakes made in the past 4-5 years it’s very painful to see the company torn apart and all of the layoffs. They have to get to a steady state; nobody can operate at 100% when they are constantly worried about getting laid off.

I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible work schedule
    Good education benefits
    good 401k matching

    Cons

Management missteps have driven stock price down leading to massive layoffs.
The awesome health insurance package is being really scaled back starting in 2018.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the region based model. Put sales teams in the region and do services globally.

    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, large company, but the machine works: processes are standardized across the company, everyone uses the same lingo.

    Cons

As many other reviews here... lots of layoffs, bureaucracy, politics. My group was not very well positioned within the company and we bit, bit got reduced.

    Advice to Management

Don't invest in a sector (Media) that you don't plan to stay for a long time.

    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Ericsson is a diversified telecommunications company with many opportunities to learn and grow your portfolio of skills and experience. They offer great training and benefits and care greatly about the environment. They may become the leading player in the 5G technology space in the years to come.

    Cons

In a word, layoffs. They are restructuring and have been for some time. It is my honest belief and hope that they will soon return to stability and industry leadership with the last few changes that they have made.

    Advice to Management

    -Good luck and best wishes!
-Real efficiency could be obtained by establishing central operating command of the different business functions. There is too much duplication of effort within the Managed Services divisions because they are silo-d from each other and from OEM. This is wasteful and increases costs needlessly.

I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good benefits, friendly HR people.

    Cons

Many of the software people are recycled hardware verification people, and have no idea how to do software. The "software" people I worked with did not understand why a single-threaded program required extensive rewriting to run on a multithreaded processor. Their software tools are atrocious.

    Advice to Management

    Replace clueless software development managers.

    Pros

The pros is that E/// is a global company with EXCELLENT benefits, stellar in fact.

    Cons

E/// acquired the company I worked for in an attempt to gain footing in the media streaming/on-demand area. However, they always seemed to be 2 steps behind the tech curve and the media division is struggling.

    Advice to Management

    None really to offer.
