    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ericsson treats their people well with excellent salary, benefits and reasonably flexible working arrangements. Their US headquarters has many perks as well (treadmills for use while on conference calls, an extensive gym for working out and many other niceties).

    Cons

Open plan work space can be distracting
A common business strategy for Ericsson is to off-shore work to reduce costs.

    Advice to Management

Understand that people are rarely interchangeable. Respect and value expertise and experience.

    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Smart Engineers, Good steady pay, great layoff package. Top Management did what they said they would do (perhaps not in terms of reaching financial goals, but in terms of setting direction, and would follow through). Unlike Cisco which would literally commit a project, and very next week cancel it, or cancel 1 week before customers were going to be able to order it.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy and policies slowing down progress.

    Advice to Management

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Awesome NPU HW/SW technology developed. Large investment, took years to get quality, and just as that was being achieved, plug pulled. Should have found a way to monetize.

I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

No pros, Ericsson was a leader in technology and now small companies are beating it because of por mid management decisions. if Ericsson wants to improve, they need to take out all the mid management and replace them with better folks

    Cons

lots of traveling, no work life balance

    Advice to Management

if it takes 6 months to take a simple internal hiring/promotion decision, then you shouldn't even take it. there are better things to focus on rather than wasting this much time.
