I have been working at Esri full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, positive and friendly work environment, annual raises variable dependent upon performance, fair evaluations, and opportunity to learn and expand skill sets and achieve technical certifications.

    Cons

Limited internal mobility to change positions within the company unless willing to relocate to Redlands, CA. Like most companies, your work experience will vary dependent upon your manager - so far I have only had excellent managers.

I worked at Esri full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very relaxed work environment. Greatly encourage personal and professional growth. Lots of opportunities to grow into. Excellent benefits. Work life balance is better than most.

    Cons

Pay is less competitive than most. Internal workflows are not documented across the board. HR moves very slowly with career transitions and onboarding. More positions should allow for some remote work.

    Advice to Management

Fight harder for your team members when you claim that they deserve more responsibility or pay.

I have been working at Esri full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Esri is the world leader in GIS, Geospatial solutions, and increasingly big data analysis... Everyone knows this in the field of Geography
    - You work with some of the most intelligent, talented, and helpful people in the field
    - You will learn so much about GIS, geography, and technology
    - Flat organization; if you're hired, your opinion matters

    Cons

    - Unequal work distribution between Redlands & Charlotte in Support
    - Can be difficult to move up in some areas
    - Company is a bit compartmentalized & often departments compete for the same internal customers

    Advice to Management

    - Hold workers accountable a bit more, especially if the workload is not evenly distributed amongst its resources
    - Encourage growth for their employees, rather than hold onto them so your team continues to work well
