    I worked at Essendant full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Better than making minimum wage, good benefits, employee discount and chances for philanthropy were always available. Sometimes got to piggyback sales perks

    Cons

    They move heaven and earth for sales... Do not give a crap about Care. The care department does ALL the heavy lifting, while sales just does whatever they want.

    Advice to Management

    Start actually putting some effort and resources into the Care delt... They're the ones who keep you going.

    I have been working at Essendant full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Monday through Friday! No weekends! Extensive training, lots of perks for sales reps, decent hourly pay. Lots of community service opportunities.

    Cons

    Terrible health care benefits. Not a lot of growth opportunity. Don't always invest in long term employees but instead hire outside

    Advice to Management

    Stop rewarding mediocrity
