I have been working at Essendant full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Paid time off is outstanding, good benefits, diversity , healthy lifestyle programs, lots of vendor supplied lunches, no weekends, average pay

    Cons

company is changing focus on industries served, lots of changes at the top, recent voluntary and involuntary retirements, micro management of inside sales position, tons of turnover in customer care that lead to new people still learning how to handle customer issues, often times incorrectly. Severe issues with deliveries to accounts that are small, remote or not a partner level account

    Advice to Management

Let your inside sales teams flourish with the experience and approach that made Essendant and themselves successful in the past. Creating an environment of micromanagement with an emphasis on transactional business over long term value added sales solutions will only serve to further decline your customer base and force good, talented sales people out the door
