Company Discount is a great perk. 30-60% in most cases. There are also many opportunities to move into management, but that is because there is a revolving door up there. You do the math. Working for MAC cosmetics also gives you a lot of room for growth as an artist because overall their Artist Training and Development Team is on top of their game.

Cons

Upper management likes to micromanage, so if you are a counter manager you don't have any influence. I have even worked at counters where the manager wasn't permitted to do his/her own scheduling. I don't think this would be the case everywhere, but the "trickle down" stress factor has pretty much been present at all the locations I've worked at.

This was quite a few years ago but the working environment was really pleasant, the offices were comfortable and the other creatives were very talented. All the creative departments were pretty close to each other along with the other brands also: Clinique, Perscriptives, Origin, etc. Nice bonuses and good benefits

At that time the art directors didn't have a lot of say in the mailer design department a in the model art direction category, just in the product category...it got a little boring at times.

Feel Micromanaged, Being "coached" by managers sometimes feels like a broken record, retail hours,nights, weekends and holidays. As a manager you will live and breath this company. You miss out on many family functions and are made to feel like you never are doing things quite good enough.

I really love what I do. I feel like there are a lot of opportunities and room for growth. Work is very challenging and interesting. The brand I am working for is doing very well and it is exciting to be part of it.

Cons

I feel like salaries do not reflect the actual work that employees do. I feel like everyone always wants more money but I think it is justified here. In general ELC pays lower than our competitors. I am not sure how they can get away with it considering the company is doing so well.

Pros

At estee lauder they promote from within. They are very supportive and provide oppotunities for growth to their employees. They are continually growing in the industry and keep their employees informed about the company goals. They are very fair when it comes to giving everyone an equal share of work. They have a flexible shedule that allows assemblers to work 3-5 days per week, and they just have to show up 3 out of the five days.

Cons

The loose powder can be bothersome.
