    Pros

Cheap cosmetics - that's about it.

    Cons

Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians,

    Advice to Management

Take care of the "Indians" otherwise all the "Chiefs" will be doing the day to day stuff.

I worked at Estée Lauder UK full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This was quite a few years ago but the working environment was really pleasant, the offices were comfortable and the other creatives were very talented. All the creative departments were pretty close to each other along with the other brands also: Clinique, Perscriptives, Origin, etc. Nice bonuses and good benefits

    Cons

At that time the art directors didn't have a lot of say in the mailer design department a in the model art direction category, just in the product category...it got a little boring at times.

    Advice to Management

I think today they've loosened up to compete with the market but they still are pretty conservative in their creative approach...STILL, not a bad company to work for.

the environment is dynamic and fun as the cosmetic industry is so quick to change and follows trends by season. There are a lot of rooms for growth. Management people are nice and the whole team/company feels like a family.

    Pros

Gratis is good and working for Ester Lauder is good

    Cons

Working for Ester Lauder at Palai Royal not a good combo.

    Advice to Management

For Stage and Palai Royal stores that have Estee Lauder and Clinique counters. Let your cosmetic sales associates do there jobs behind the counter and let your retail associates do what you hired them for in retail sales.

I have been working at Estée Lauder UK full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

People are great, office is nice.

    Cons

Annual merit increase is the only opportunity to increase salary - there is no standard cost of living increase each year. It's near impossible to get the full 4%, most supervisors simply say they "don't give" 4% because there's always room for improvement.

Salaries aren't readily adjusted to account for standard pay increases over time...so, a first-year manager hired from outside the company would have the same salary as an Estee Lauder manager of 4 years.

Annual bonus amounts pre-manager level are ridiculously low. Seriously ridiculously low. (maximum of $2,500 after taxes).

Many of my colleagues worked long hours on a regular basis - and it's really hard to move up and get recognized for contributions. These are the main reasons I wouldn't recommend the company to a friend.
