    Pros

Benefits were alright and my direct manager was amazing.

    Cons

The claim volume was high and management always said they were doing things to help very little relief was ever found for the high volume of claims. As a Rapid Response employee they were always promising better shifts but they never came after over 2 years of waiting.

    Claims Adjuster

Oct 16, 2019 - Claims Adjuster in San Francisco, CA

    Pros

At least on the outside there is the appearance of mobility within the company. Some managers are very helpful. Decent amount of PTO.

    Cons

With this company there’s almost no chance of being even slightly caught up in your work unless you stay late, but since employees are salary you won’t be paid for the extra work you do that is completely necessary. The work load is high. The company advocates work-life balance but then gives you a hard time if you try to focus on your personal time if everything they want isn’t first done to a T. There is very little faith in employees to manage their own work. There’s a high degree of micromanaging. The metrics they use don’t correlate with if someone is a good employee. More often you have to be a less good employee and provide less stellar customer attention just to have your numbers fall in the range they want. Employees are cut loose with no warning and there is no indication of what they’ve even done wrong so it can’t be repeated. Other departments are very lazy and constantly try to throw their work back on you, which may be an indication that employee expectations are also unfair on that end.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate and value your input as an employee. We are committed to creating work / life balance for our associates, and are disappointed to hear about some of your experiences. We have programs in place to help our associates meet the demands of their work and personal life including flexible schedules, the potential to work from home, and generous PTO. I encourage you to have an open dialogue with your manager to discuss these or other options that would help you find better balance.

    Great people and good mission

Jul 5, 2019 - Auto Liability Claims Adjuster in Mesa, AZ

    Pros

Small company feel with the backing of a behemoth. Comprehensive training program with ample support for all types of learners regardless of background. Really enjoyed my small (10 person) training class and kudos to the recruiters for assembling such a great group of people. Esurance seems to genuinely care about their people and goes the extra mile to keep everyone happy and coming back for more. Good base pay and growth opportunities. Meaningful work that stimulates the mind.

    Cons

The insurance business can be quite challenging so this job is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared to stay busy, make tough decisions, and interact with a variety of customers, vendors, and other insurers. Time management and organization skills are critical!

    Claims

    Pros

Location in Rocklin Survey associates several times a year But rarely act on the feedback before a new survey comes out

    Cons

Absence of trust A high level member of HR would stay at an east coast directors home as they share similar athletic hobbies. Total conflict of interest. Key in any change management is communication. You not only don’t communicate during these significant changes, you send mixed messages. These mixed messages cause angst and anxiety for the workforce. Perhaps it is intentional to obtain the desired outcome that you wish-attrition! Check the box approach to many things. Career pathing is smoke and mirrors. Akin to telling a foot soldier she can be a general some day but she can’t leave her foxhole because of all the bombers coming her way.

Best company i've ever worked for

Aug 9, 2019 - Claims Adjuster in Hauppauge, NY

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Everyone here is so welcoming and helpful. I am new to Esurance but within the 5 weeks of being here so far, I have to say it's one of the best companies I've ever had the privilege of being employed by. The training is very thorough and they make sure you are well prepared! I've also had the opportunity to meet with the president and head of management for all of Esurance and they informed us all on the future plans and current status of our company as a whole.

    Cons

Nothing but good things to say

    Think twice

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Usually there are other jobs you can apply to within the company

    Cons

Claims adjuster role you are given an unmageable work load the trainer puts little care into you feeling ready to hit the floor there are a lot of office politics they try and pay you as little as possible and do as much work as they can squeeze out of you there isn’t really a “fun” environment they just shove numbers down your throat and question why you can’t achieve certain things basically you are set up for failure from the beginning

    Esurance Response

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your Esurance experience is not what you want it to be. We encourage you to reach out to your manager or local HR business partner if you have questions or concerns. They truly are there to help you. We know that being a claims adjuster is a challenging role and one that keeps you very busy all day long in caring for our customers when they've experienced a loss. We are currently hiring in our Claims department and look forward to bringing on additional staff. It's good to be a part of a growing, dynamic organization and we're glad you're a part of it and offering suggestions for improvement.
