    Pros

Somewhat decent pay for the area.

    Cons

Management has favorites. Morale is at a all time low. They recently had a mass lay off and released many employees who were loyal to the company for 10+ years each but kept some supervisors who do nothing as they are management 'favorites'. Currently they are suffering from a huge turn over rate due to sloppy management decisions. Many long time employees are leaving to find better employment and jobs where they will be respected and not micro managed. Esurance was successful because at one time they were 'unique' but now everyone has a online option. The company is currently in panic mode, trying to remain relevant. The clock is ticking until the parent company pulls the plug.

    Pros

Coworkers are great. Casual environment. Decent benefits. Coworkers feel your pain

    Cons

Crazy workload. By the time one new hire is trained enough to take on a full load 2 existing adjusters have quit. Management only cares about numbers, does not seem interested in employees well being

    Pros

Great work environment, amazing co-workers, flexible schedule, and the ability to work from home. The pay is great and the ability for OT pay is usually always available which is great!!

    Cons

The only cons would be that it is a call center. If you have family and have to work a late schedule then you would be missing valuable time with them

    Pros

    nice employees and nice building

    Cons

That licensing test is very difficult. Management preaches that they will get you to pass but how and when? The way they use to do it was have the employees go through the 9 weeks of training then the licensing exam but now you have to complete the licensing 2 weeks into starting. A lot of employees told me they use to have someone help them with the exam so they could pass but not now. You WILL have to go through all of these Modules by yourself. The modules are very misleading and confusing. Others might have another view, but for the other people it may not be for you. The pay is great but it's not worth constantly taking that exam and being discouraged each time you fail. Plus, the reason i left is because i would of had to pay $100 to retake the exam each time until i pass. That isn't fair especially when there is very little help on the modules. The whole start of this process is stressful as heck. I warn others trying to work here, just double check and make sure you don't mind the heavy stress.

Great team, good culture, and management focused on development

    Pros

Overalls Esurance was a great place to work. Really good work life balance, good development opportunities in the office, and just a generally positive environment to be in. The company has a pretty sizeable chunk of employees who left the company and came back after some time. I think that speaks well of the company and its culture.

    Cons

You trade some salary for the work life balance, and there are a few teams that seem to be outliers in terms of reviews.

    Avoid like the plague

Nov 13, 2019 - Associate Claims Adjuster in Mesa, AZ

    Pros

Wonderful co-workers, decent pay, decent benefits

    Cons

Managers promoted because of inappropriate relationship with senior management. This company spends time to verify college education only to put qualified people under management with no education and no management experience. 6 month turnover for new claims adjusters. Abusive company culture where senior management calls associates in to berate them. Workload is way too much. Training is woefully inadequate. Stress level is incredibly high. Disability accommodation request was completely ignored. No work life balance. My last day there I stayed until 5:30 even though my salaried hours were only 8-5. My manager asked why I was leaving so early. This was normal and the floor was active usually well past 7pm. I never saw a time when there were not associates working late, early, weekends. I walked out without giving two weeks notice. They also have associates who complete training fill out Glassdoor reviews to skew their ratings here. Beware.

    Supervisor/helpdesk

Jun 19, 2014 - Supervisor in Sioux Falls, SD

    Pros

Anyone who's computer literate and eager to learn can work here. Middle management seems to care about employees. Most of them really impress me. Some seasoned employees. Ok benefits. They want to challenge their employees to challenge themselves. Highly competitive when looking to promote in some areas of the company. There are numerous ways to network yourself in a fast paced, rising company. Paying for the initial cost of getting licensed. Small bonuses at month end. Some incentives. Catering in the break room. Somewhat decent work/life balance after you put some time into the company. Possibly of a new challenge daily. You always learn something new. Employees suggestions has helped save the company a lot of time and hassle in some situations. Always somewhere you can promote to. Multiple locations nationwide. Sioux falls office is probably the best place to work out of all the others. Lots of different dept in one building allows for creative ideas to improve the company. They aren't there yet, but some of Management/Corp have good minds for where to go with the company. Management is always trying to find ways to help reps succeed and to also improve the company.

    Cons

There are people who are major players in the company who are making big decisions, who seemingly have no idea what it's like for the Dedicated employees who interact with customers. There are people making changes who have never had to sit and be verbally abused by a customer because of processes and daily pain points. That aside, I feel that nobody working in SA/TL spot is being paid a respectable wage compared to expectations (or other businesses in the area) At the very least a minimum starting wage of $15-$17 per hour in Sioux falls would be competitive to what I've been offered at other companies. SA alone handles a good number of major functions of the company. The company "revised" the pay structure, but all that means is you still don't get paid more based on expectations changing as frequently as they do. We do what we do, very well for the most part. It'd be nice to be recognized for that from time to time. I've been with the company for over 4 years and have been treated decently. Unfortunately, after looking at other jobs in different call centers, and other insurance companies, I've realized that we are very under paid for what we are asked to do. I have been hearing the same from other teammates as well. I'm sticking it out to see how the changes go. Not sticking around more than another year if pay doesn't improve.

    Customer Service Representative

May 22, 2015 - Customer Service Representative in San Antonio, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Flex time when available. Casual dress. Work at available if your numbers are good. 8 hr or 10 hr shifts available. If you're lucky enough to get one of the few awesome supervisors, they'll go to bat for you and try to give you additional (much needed) breathers, but in turn, they get a lot of slack for it. Site manager is AMAZING and always accessible.

    Cons

Mundane, repetitive, absolutely no employee pride in brand, low pay compared to other call centers in area. High turnover rate which in turn increases customer hold time and frustration once you get the call.
