Pros
Job security due to constant understaffing
Cons
Complete micromanagement. Inefficient, outdated systems, unrealistic goals. Even when you hit your goals, they don't reward you, it's just expected. Pay is lower than market value. No direction or identity. Upper management is comprised of rejects from other failed companies.

-I genuinely like my coworkers and feel supported by the other people on my team -I get to work on a variety of projects -Great work/life balance
Cons
-Slow to reward (i.e. promotions) good work (at least on certain teams) -Reward certain people just for being there a long time, even if they don't do a good job -Upper management seems a bit secretive at times and communication and direction aren't always clear -Lots of politics -Salary is lower than average for the same position in my city -Cheap when it comes to perks and technology. Our chairs are horrible.

Comes up short
Feb 21, 2014 - Insurance Sales Agent in Tampa, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Large company back by a reputable organization in Allstate. Decent pay for the type of work being done. Extremely flexible when it comes to your schedule and balancing your work/personal life.
Cons
Moving up in the company is possible, but only if you are willing to play 'corporate tattle tale' Upper management seems to have little experience and it is very apparent in their decision making. This makes it quite difficult to maintain high morale

BEST JOB EVER
Feb 11, 2019 - Customer Service Representative in Sioux Falls, SDRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have worked at Esurance for 11 years and I LOVE my job. I have always felt valued as an employee and the open door policy with upper management is AMAZING! I love the work at home option!
Cons
I honestly have no cons!
Thank you for your feedback! We love hearing it and appreciate your time with us. We will continue to work on our great culture and look forward to your continued contributions in the years to come!

Pros
401 k , PTO, Flex, Vision, Dental
Cons
Upper Management lost and disconnected from front line employees. All it is about numbers. They have embraced the credit card call center model, up sell coverage to broke insures, push discounts that don't work. If you don't, you will lose your job. You can't just help the customer anymore. So don't work for this company. They change total direction every 6 months, shows they are losing business.

Pros
Made some great friends there
Cons
Compensation is lacking as compared to other companies in the industry. High turnover in upper management over the years has led to some severely unqualified people in positions they didn't earn. This company has been poorly managed and unprofitable for years, leading to high turnover rates. Stay away.

Operations not Operating
Jan 20, 2017 - Operations in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The lower level employees are absolutely fantastic. Great team set ups across the board. Location is right by the waterfront. Great place to go for a walk, (if your manager lets you.)
Cons
Upper management is very out of touch. A lot of old world thinkers there, and frankly, it just doesn't keep up in the Silicon Valley. There is hardly any oversight of bad management. There a few rotten eggs that keep driving whole teams away, but nobody is doing anything about it. HR is very friendly, but not useful as far as affecting management change.

Director, Human Resources
I could not agree more, our associates and teams are fantastic, across the board! Our leadership team regularly solicits and responds to feedback from associates. Creating a culture where all associates feel empowered to do their best work is something the leadership team heavily emphasizes. I am sorry that you did not have a good experience, I appreciate your perspective and we will continue to strive to make sure that all associates feel empowered.
