I worked at Etihad Airways full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Etihad offers its employees the highest salary amongst all other airlines in the middle-east region (i.e.: Emirates, Qatar, Saudi, Oman, Gulf etc.)
    - Provides employees with 10 ID buddy tickets per year apart from the unlimited ID tickets for the employee and his immediate family members
    - Access to great discounts at the Airport duty-free anywhere around the world
    - Quarterly bonuses

    Cons

    - Lots of politics within senior management
    - References are given 101% priority in new staff/candidate selection and hiring procedure (senior management of most departments have relationships with HR staff), applying online is almost useless

    Advice to Management

    - Get rid of internal politics from all departments at all levels
    - Make way for new talent by allowing online applications a chance for selection by banning internal reference system

I worked at Etihad Airways full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity, company grows so fast. Potentially a great place to develop a unique career.

    Cons

Corporate politics, favourism in terms of opportunity and earning scale goes to European nationalities for the most part. But again that's normal in that part of the world.

    Advice to Management

To be fair and respect the employee's experience and background rather than nationality.

I have been working at Etihad Airways full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is slightly above average for the industry but is far out of line with expectations. Benefits package is adequate but out of line with expectations.

    Cons

Demands for managers are that you work during days off, holidays, vacations, etc. There is no real time off.

Line staff are underpaid and overused. Company is often abusive to lower level employees.

Etihad "gaslights" employees, abusing and disrespecting them then insisting that anyone who speaks up is the issue.

Etihad is in deep debt and is hemorrhaging money. Salaries have been frozen for more than two years now.

All you need to know is this: every co-worker I have is looking for a new job. I don't know anyone who is happy and doesn't regret accepting their job. The sooner I escape the better.

    Advice to Management

Stop abusing staff and customers. Stop charging outrageous fees to your customers and demanding that your staff collects them by threatening them.

    Pros

Very nice perks such as discounts everywhere, paid for accommodation, dry cleaned laundry, transport to and from work. Good salary.

    Cons

Unstable hours, not much of a work/life balance. Working with a different team of people everyday in itself can be both a good thing and a bad thing. Sometimes you have really great colleagues to work with other times they can be awful, you never know how the day is going to be.

    Advice to Management

Be realistic with your expectations and try not to treat us as 'numbers'.
