    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Etro full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Family owned business, the family takes care of their associates , full covered benefits , generous salary and competitive commission pay

    Cons

    - needs a better corporate staff - needs more structure -uptight and cheap with gift with purchase Lots of gossip

    Advice to Management

Keep managment problems and issues within the managment team and let sales team be a sales team. Micromanaging doesnt make success, its a luxury fashion house not a fast fashion brand, take your time and money will start to flow and everyone will be happy

I worked at Etro full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Etro was a great company to work for when I first joined. I was part of a management team in one of their outlets in the US. Etro has never been a typical corporate company. Still family owned, it felt like you were part of a crazy Italian family. The product is amazing and unique. Most of the time it feels like you are working in an art gallery. The stores (both retail and outlet) are beautifully designed and put a...

    Cons

A few years ago Etro went through changes (new corporate management and increased prices) both of which negatively impacted the business. Add the price increase to an already tough retail market, the sales immediately plummeted and they have not recovered. As a result of the price change, the company lost a lot of its loyal (outlet) customers. While there has never been a strong corporate structure in Etro, there is...

    Advice to Management

Provide the tools to succeed: The company is technologically outdated. In the outlets, you are expected to communicate with clients but are not given any tools for it except for a store email that is usually full. Taking photos for customers gets to be complicated when you only have one or two computers, one email and one camera for several sales associates to share. The CRM is basic at most and not very helpful when...

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Etro

    Pros

great company to work for. it is family owned and they treat their employees (even the lowest member) very well. good pay for what you are doing free uniforms twice a year small workforce, so you make close ties

    Cons

internal growth is slow because it has a very small corporate team, so unless someone leaves their are not a lot of openings. i work in the outlet and you do unfortunately get treated like the "stepchild" on occasion. The majority of attention is spent on the boutiques ( obviously) so sometimes it is annoying to get the lesser end of things, (product shipment and uniforms)

    Advice to Management

I really enjoy the management. They let the whole team contribute and want us all to succeed. There is sales quotas to meet, so it can be stressful but they are usually pretty understanding if you don't make your goal every month.
