I have been working at Euroclear Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Generally nice climate. great people except for the people who have been at euroclear for ever and neither leave nor want to make any necessary cultural changes. these are at senior level. There are a few good leaders but these often get blocked or tend to leave when they get tired of the lack of progress. Good place for university leavers to get their initial taining.

    Cons

the market is in a downturn and strong focus on cost cutting instewd of growing. This is leading to random cuts and poor decisions

    Advice to Management

walk the walk of what you learned at Ashridge. Recognise the need to change and the importance of the people. Value these more and show it

I worked at Euroclear Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fair salary, good work life balance, international atmosphere, nice colleagues, good location in the city center next to metro and train station, nice offices.

    Cons

By far the worst mid management I've seen in my career. Promotions, bonuses, they do not depend on your capabilities or your work but on the personal preference of your director (even your manager doesn't have a lot to say). A lot of bureaucracy. Mediocre employees that know how to follow without questioning are appreciated. No room for creativity. Currently they are trying to reduce costs and push people to quit (less expensive than firing them).

    Advice to Management

Stop treating people like numbers. Value the good ones and see potential in people

depending on the team, the company provides quite nice training opportunities.
internal rotation is possible, very international environment
    nice and friendly working environment

    Cons

promotion does not seem to be based on merits, great people could end up leaving the company because they do not find the right recognition or challenging environment

    Advice to Management

great people could end up leaving the company because they do not find the right recognition or challenging environment, promote employees and provide interesting/challenging projects could be great
