I have been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast paced, always able to learn something new, great people

    Cons

Work volume can be volatile leading to inconsistent hours, high quality control and attention to detail required.

    Advice to Management

Be more proactive with encouraging your team, find a way to keep attitudes positive, you manage your technicians but they are what keeps the lab going- they need to be treated as such.

I have been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great health coverage, promotes from within, and overall a very inviting workplace

    Cons

Some very specific rules, but that is to be expected from a job that affects the safety of others.

    Pros

Pay (Shift Differential). Great location right on the river.

    Cons

Not personable. Lack of communication. Terrible outlook on work (organ donation tissue samplings).

    Advice to Management

They openly lied about some aspects of their company after I interviewed with them. One was about the work that they do, the other one was there communication they have with potential employees and communicating with them. . They have terrible communication with employees. You can find a lot better companies

    Pros

Being an in-sourced employee is better than being a sub-contractor or contractor with no benefits

    Cons

The pay scale scale as compared to colleague counterparts sucks. we get paid less to do more work and it's often the grunt work, of which we are given no credit or recognition

    Advice to Management

Step up your game. Employees are disenchanted after the 1st year of employment.

I have been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people are great. Learned a plethora of knowledge from the manufacturing and services (molecular biology) aspects, as well as IT, marketing, and sales aspects. Awesome resume builder. Learned many business as well as life lessons.

    Cons

Volatile market and lack of response time from upper management. Company is on a race to the bottom in pricing. Company can't afford experienced staff (high turnover).

    Advice to Management

Don't let sales bury the company. Good sales people can sell without completely butchering prices. There is no reason that pricing should be 10 - 30 percent of what it was 4 years ago........

I have been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    The coffee is hot...sometimes.

    Cons

No Employee Ownership Program ...greed at the management level rules the company starting at the top. Bonuses are non-existent. The French are notorious for treating Americans with disdain...and this is evident with this French CEO...how much money is enough for you....80 billion??

    Advice to Management

Plain and Simple...let your employees participate in the growth of the company valuation and make individual Division Presidents and VP's share their gains with others instead of just filling their own pockets. Greed, Greed, Greed.

I have been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    3 weeks PTO to start.

    Cons

Huge culture of blaming low level employees for problems above their pay grade. Raises are nearly non-existent. Over achievement is never recognized. You're just a number in a spreadsheet to upper management. They could not care less about low level employees. Employee appreciation is a tray of supermarket cookies once a month.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire the temps who suck at their job just because you need warm bodies. You need to pay more to keep the smart ones around. You just get left with all the dummies who are only shuffling from one crisis to the next.

    Pros

Great launch to another company or career.

    Cons

Maintains a strain of insidious corruption and nepotism, borne out of the inept and dishonest will of a few. Some mid-level mgrs. are cognizant, as evident in some corps., however their primary concern is their own status.

    Advice to Management

Mother and daughter should never be in the same department, let alone the same office. It creates a feudal system of mistrust and inequity.
