I worked at Evalueserve full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learning opportunities for junior people, excellent training in all areas except sales, good starter jobs, excellent firm to be from.

    Cons

Weak company strategy, mediocre senior management. Sales is a big problem area - there is no "culture of sales' inside the firm, overall weak sales strategy - no clear picture of the sales funnel, no lead generation strategy. A very small percentage of the sale staff (CEs - "client executives") make it, way less than 50%. As the company growth and innovation have slowed, it is attracting fewer of the best people and quality issues have become more commonplace. High attrition also causes quality issues, every time the economy heats up in India turnover rises to 30 to 50%. As others have mentioned, few at Evalueserve think themselves adequately compensated, and although key performers may be offered stock options, there is no liquidity of stock options, and not much hope of liquidity. High attrition often driven by low salaries.

Company did not introduce a working CRM system until 2015, still has no effective lead generation mechanism for sales force.

    Advice to Management

At least two of the executive counsel are ill suited to their current roles, this has a bad effect which ripples down the company. Hire a VP of Sales, none of the business units have a true sales funnel or truly functional lead generation systems.

    Cons

Lack of industry understanding. Glorified staff augment shop. Unrealistic goals trying to adapt product selling approach to sell services.

    Advice to Management

Have patience with the people you invest. Look at your infrastructure and practice support staff before spoiling your relationships with client facing executive.
