I worked at Evangelical Community Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Small hospital - dedicated providers. Nice surroundings. Good cafeteria. Nice holiday meal. Clean hospital. Can’t think of a lot of positives.

    Cons

No support for middle management. Promotion not based on skills or work ethic. It’s all about who you know and not what you know. Human Resources is not supportive of staff - they don’t follow their own rules.

    Advice to Management

Get people into positions who will create a positive work environment. No one should be afraid or bullied. Get hr to react quicker.

I have been working at Evangelical Community Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Raises and bonuses and market adjustments are pretty good.. comparable to surrounding hospitals. Very friendly staff. Patients enjoy a small intimate setting

    Cons

The Human Resources dept is terrible. They've let potential employees go because of their inability to respond the applicants. They never address problems or legitimate concerns within departments and among staff. The hospital would rather spend money on their own public image than supply employees with necessary things to do their jobs

I worked at Evangelical Community Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Can't think of any. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah 20 word minimum. Blah blah blah blah blah blah.

    Cons

Promoting incompetent people to positions of power, HR is ineffective, issues are ignored. Laboratory management in particular is very incompetent. Employees are overworked and underappreciated. Third shift employees denied PTO because of short staffing. Ineffective scheduling.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees or they will go somewhere better.

I worked at Evangelical Community Hospital full-time

    Pros

Co-workers were my second family, happy, polite, courteous. Strong community involvement, President was Active and Communicative.

    Cons

Poor Management skills in Accounting Dept. Bullying and favoritism were overlooked.

    Advice to Management

Equality, saying "Thank you", encouragement, developmental goals, being involved, approachable, and appreciated goes along way and should be part of the management style.

I have been working at Evangelical Community Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of new learning experiences & opportunities for advancement. Co-workers are friendly and caring. Office environment is supportive.

    Cons

Pay rate is not enough for experienced, quality employees. Not able to cross-train with other departments. Hospital employees should not have to pay a deductible for services rendered through the Evan.

    Advice to Management

You need to compensate appropriately for quality, experienced employees who can build the brand to continue competing with the bigger hospitals.
