      Talent Manager

Thank you for leaving your review! It's good to see you are having, on the whole, a good experience. In terms of pay. I am going to assume that you work in one of our stores. We will be launching in the autumn enhanced rates of pay for all our Sales Assistants, Bike Builders, Supervisors & Mechanics (management receive annual salary reviews) upon completion of our new performance health checks (a new on-the-job assessment). We're currently trialing the new health checks to ensure they are effective. I hope you continue to enjoy your career with us.

      Cons

New ownership has ushered in “unfavourable “ decisions for long term serving members of staff, loyal customers and has steered away from core values from when I joined the business

      Pros

      - Quick to hire as Evans are absolutely desperate for staff. - Insight on how not to run a company or treat customers.

      Cons

      - Uncompetitive pay and poor staff discount for anyone interested in bikes. - Completely unethical 0 hours contracts with no rights such as sick pay etc. - Job uncertainty in elimination of roles by enforced 'voluntary redundancies'. - Disinterested colleagues coupled with staff who abuse positions of power. - Chronic lack of investment into own brand product development. - No vetting of product quality and investment into cheap throwaway goods. - Customer support isn't adequate and does little to help shops or consumers. - Sports Direct favour a dumb retail computer system over staff intuition. - Lack of trained mechanics leading to poor workshop service & productivity. - Abysmal Trustpilot reviews and reporting to BBC Watchdog.

Heavy focus on driving expensive products, which sometimes creates a disregard for customer's needs. A noticeable amount of brown-nosing and a hostile atmosphere in my particular workplace. A deficiency in knowledge on all levels, including upper management.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

If you like bikes you'll like the job, if you like high end bikes you will only like the website as its like a Walmart vibe with cheap crap bikes in store

      Cons

No support from head office, terrible discount and you get lumped with everything from price differences, visual merchandise, shop layout changes, delivery check offs and so many other roles the company want you to complete in a single day its incomprehensible. Your made to fingerprint scan which is fine but 1 minute late your moaned at with threat of disaplinary even though 99% of managers stay late and come on way ealier to Forfill there 45 hour quoter which to be honest takes over your entire life with absolutely no work to life balance. Other than that it's ok
