Thank you for leaving your review! It's good to see you are having, on the whole, a good experience. In terms of pay. I am going to assume that you work in one of our stores. We will be launching in the autumn enhanced rates of pay for all our Sales Assistants, Bike Builders, Supervisors & Mechanics (management receive annual salary reviews) upon completion of our new performance health checks (a new on-the-job assessment). We're currently trialing the new health checks to ensure they are effective. I hope you continue to enjoy your career with us.

I worked at Evans Cycles part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fairly flexible working hours. There is sometimes the ability to do overtime or switch days if necessary. Decent amount of holiday leave. Positive enthusiastic staff, who feel like a family. There are some nice perks, including trade and BikeFest (a day of trialling the bikes and being paid to do it!). Was flexible for fitting in around school and university, with the ability to transfer as needed. As a woman working in quite a male-dominated industry, each team has been very supportive when customers may not have always been kind. This just shows how much of a family each store I have worked at is. Would 100% recommend working for them. I only expected to be there for a year or so, but I loved it so much that I stayed. You develop yourself as a person, talking to customers, building a sales pitch and learning how the retail business works. It has been helpful at gaining skills necessary for kickstarting my career. I have become a more confident lady. I have helped move stores or help staff in others stores where needed too. This was quite fun.

    Cons

Pay isn't incredible, but it makes up for it with the team bonus. I do not mean that there is commission, but if the sales target is met, the whole team benefit. So, I guess this is more a positive because it means that there aren't people stealing sales off each other. This makes it a much more friendly environment to work in.
