    Pros

Evercore provides the opportunity for its employees to reap the benefits of both a lucrative income, and the chance to work with, and for, some very bright and influential individuals.

    Cons

Unfortunately, some members of the companies middle-management treated lower-rung employees with consistent disrespect. This often made the work-environment a rather uncomfortable place to be.

    Advice to Management

The disrespectful way in which middle-management treated some employees was not appropriate, nor did it reflect the image of class, quality, and integrity which the company strives to exhibit.

    Cons

I'm not sure of how the promoting works in NYC, but the branch offices don't offer any room for promotion.

I worked at Evercore Partners (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are many seasoned professionals to work with. iT is an amicable environment to work in. Ideas are freely shared among st peers.

    Cons

Company has changed a bit since their merger. The family culture seems to lost. Compensation seems to be subjective rather than objective.

    Advice to Management

Try to be more upfront with respect to company developments and implementation strategy.. Try to get back to a more congenial atmosphere.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Evercore Partners full-time

    Pros

The company gives a lot of responsibilities no mid senior management, step up opportunities are common and chances to lead to projects

    Cons

Little growth opportunities, it operates with a very flat structure that leave little space to growth withing the company. It is difficult to motivate junior employees to stay in the company given these restrictions

    Advice to Management

They should be more engaged with junior employees, helping them to find a path within the company and to figure out real career paths.

I have been working at Evercore Partners full-time

    Pros

The admins all get along fairly well with one another and we try to help each other out when we can. Free bagels in the morning

    Cons

The senior partners, for the most part, are all very tough and have difficult personalities. It is not uncommon to hear lots of curse words and see junior and midlevel people being berated loudly and publicly.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice for the SMDs to realize that even if the scolding and yelling is not directed at you, we can all see and hear. It does not do well for morale when so many people get treated so poorly.
