    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Evergreen Public Schools part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on the administration at your school and the teachers you work with, it can be very pleasant and supportive environment to help students.

    Cons

The pro can also be a con, if you get stuck at a school with bad administration or teachers it will feel like you can't help any of the students.

    Advice to Management

Advice to the district/super superintendent: Figure out what schools are the highest rated/best environment (for employees) and copy that for the worst rated/worst environment schools. If the teachers and administration are positive and work well with each other, the students will benefit a lot.

I worked at Evergreen Public Schools part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Worked there for 6 yrs. Loved the work with all my heart !! & the pay was fine per hr. If you have a spouse then this is a fine supplement income.. But there is no way you can live on this alone.

    Cons

The pay was fine per hr but not with the continued cutting off hrs & the management is horrible. The Union is a completely waste of $..

    Advice to Management

    Quit!!!

I have been working at Evergreen Public Schools part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The faculty and staff are always friendly and welcoming. They appreciate my hard work.

    Cons

I am a volunteer, so the students will have electives. The red tape of the school district make it difficult to have enough staff for all our needs.

    Advice to Management

At the district level, a good strong look into areas for expansion would be wonderful. At the school level keep up the good work.

I worked at Evergreen Public Schools part-time

    Pros

During my time working at the Evergreen School district it was really easy to get into new jobs. The school district is really not involved too much with the job, but it mostly depended on what school I had signed up to work in. It was a great experience and provided me with valuable knowledge which can easily translate into other settings.

    Cons

The kids are great but it does take someone with a great deal of patience in order to be successful. On days which you might lack it, it can be challenging

I worked at Evergreen Public Schools (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Teachers are appreciated as professionals. $1500 a year for professional development. Additional Tri-Pay that is added into your paycheck for 11 months of the year (this is a negotiated percentage). Early release Wednesday for planning time, PLCs, professional development. Leadership opportunities are available to those who want them. Having worked for other school districts, I think Evergreen is the best. Especially compared to Oregon districts.

    Cons

Constructivist Philosophy so it can be quite time consuming to create curriculum, assessments, and other instructional materials. Health insurance costs are high.
