I have been working at Evergreen Systems full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great company with a great, open culture. CEO has done a fantastic job of navigating market changes, leading the company to migrate to the best new platforms despite the pain associated with that change. The company is 20 years old in an environment where most companies like it don't survive precisely because they are wedded to a strategy that doesn't flex with the market. Easy to get a rapid decision in support of...

    Cons

Occasional business landslide may leave staff stretched. Not sure how you fix this though and remain prudent in expense management.

    Advice to Management

Stay largely on course....perhaps consider a further acquisition if one could be prudently identified to accelerate growth.

I have been working at Evergreen Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I wish I could say some positive things about this company but all I have done the past 2+ years that I have worked here is make excuses for them. The pay is decent but you will work lawyer hours for that pay.

    Cons

There are too many to list. They do not care about their employees - they pretend like they do but they will let go of you in a minute, I have seen it happen several times to coworkers and they will also get rid of you if the work dries out too. Management only looks to blame people instead of getting to the root cause of the issues the company has and they are losing customers left and right.

    Advice to Management

Take some accountability instead of blaming your employees. Be up front with your customers instead of promising them something that is impossible to deliver. Take care of your employees otherwise you will continue to lose them.

I am sorry you are unhappy. I am the CEO, and I read and reply to every post. I'd like to address your points. As to the hours worked per week, there are times when it is more based on a particular situation - but overall we average 40-45 hours per week. As to not caring for ...

    Cons

small company; only a handful of people are safe; everyone else is expendable. No shelf life on bench; they don't keep people on bench long or at all.

I worked at Evergreen Systems full-time

    Pros

Great pay if you know how to negotiate Flexible work hours

    Cons

No centralized knowledge base of resources. People are working on projects all over the world and theres no way to see if someone is working on something similar to you. You will be cut as soon as a project finishes transition into operational status and replaced with an outsourced hire overseas. All the resources I've worked with on one particular project were fired or laid off within six months of completion. ...

    Advice to Management

If you're a member of senior management, you're doing great -- you have a high salary, and simply need to churn low cost overseas labor while pocketing the difference. I didn't think this was sustainable as a business model, but Evergreen Systems has proven me wrong.

I don't mean to be blunt, but most of this is flat out wrong. Here's what is accurate: Our centralized base of projects and resources is not as advanced as we'd like it to be - updating that is one of the internal projects for this year, which was explained to all employees in ...

    April 27, 2015CEO

In the days of Client - Server it was easier. We used a Waterfall project management approach and an employee would generally be full time on one project for 6 months or longer. The cloud has really changed this - now all consulting is done using a Agile approach - nothing else ...

    Pros

No politics. Very open management style. Truly a team. Everything revolves around delivering quality solutions to client problems. Straighforward in how they deal with clients and employees. Results driven -- with clients and employees. Show your ROI as an employee and you will be here a long time...and be very happy here. Don't be confused by reviews for other companies named Evergreen.

    Cons

Small company -- just starting to implement formal management training programs; benefits are good but might not be as good as offerings at large corporation.

I agree with the cons. It is true that these tend to be bigger challenges for small companies. We are working on both, and pay especially close attention to our healthcare plan as it figures large for all of us. I am happy to say that we have an Aetna plan through ADP and it is ...
