I have been working at Everspring full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Working for Everspring gives me the opportunity for impactful work on two fronts: First, our firm supports the highest-quality online degree programs from nationally-known universities. Students and graduates of these programs advance their careers and set examples for their friends, families, and communities. Educational opportunities change lives and creating that opportunity is what we do every day. Second, my...

The hard thing about hard things (like launching a company) is that they're hard. Things need to be built and rebuilt. Disorderly things need to be clarified and organized. The best path forward isn't usually obvious. If you're looking for a job where you just follow the manual, this isn't it.

    Advice to Management

Keep the bar high. The team I see is energized and focused, running at a great 2019!

I worked at Everspring full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A lot of smart, dedicated people. Great office space downtown. Working with top-tier Universities to bring programs online is rewarding.

    Cons

They really, *really* don't care about their employees. Poor PTO, standard benefits otherwise. No real ability to move around the company or for growth. They are far below market in salary. Be clear, you are there to build this company up enough for it to be acquired. There is no benefit in that for you other than a place to work until that happens. Hey, that's how a lot of companies work. But coupled with the above...

    Advice to Management

Learn the marketplace. If you have bad employees, it's because you are not offering a package to recruit or retain good employees. This is going to burn you very, very badly in areas with high demand skills that you desperately need to be building up. Also, and I can't stress this enough: DON'T DEFENSIVELY RESPOND TO GLASSDOOR REVIEWS! OH MY GOODNESS, IT MAKES YOU LOOK SO BAD! It wholly confirms that upper management...

I have been working at Everspring full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The amazing people that I have met are truly talented and highly motivated. My supervisor is the best leader I have ever had in all of my previous jobs. She leads by example and works with us and not "at" us. She is approachable and we all respect and want to achieve daily goals because of her strong work ethic! Those that want to better themselves and grow will go far because it is encouraged and attainable. It is easier...

I have been working at Everspring full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I love the people at Everspring! Compensation is highly competitive. Benefits are competitive. (Better than my last two jobs!) CEO , President, and the Board make smart, aggressive business decisions that enable me to grow and develop the awesome people on my team. Everspring’s work creates meaningful, positive change for real people. We help students earn their degrees online, improving not just their incomes,...

    Cons

This work takes a lot of energy. When you work on behalf of branded universities, you need to be terrific. It is our job to guide university faculty and staff through difficult change, but they are not designed for change. It can take years to build their trust.

    Advice to Management

As an executive, I am certainly part of "Management." My advice to us is to keep listening and improving.

I have been working at Everspring full-time

    Pros

I joined Everspring because I wanted a faster pace and more growth opportunities. It has been amazing. Raises and promotions have been better than I’ve seen anywhere else. I get to design interesting courses and thought leadership projects, and I’m learning all the time. Our VP is a good listener and generates creative ideas. Excellent cheer.

    Cons

Sometimes faculty are frustrating. No complaints.

    Advice to Management

The last company update was exciting. Keep sharing that kind of data.

I have been working at Everspring full-time

    Pros

I have thought long and hard as to what I wanted to say in response to the recent posts I've seen on this platform. I have worked for Everspring for years and have known its leadership for years and years and years. I have NEVER seen the extreme negative behavior (i.e. racist, sexist) described. EVER. Believe what you will; it's your choice. I believe in this company and the leaders who run it. I believe in our partners...

I have been working at Everspring full-time for more than a year

    Pros

As other reviewers have mentioned, most of the people at ES are incredibly bright, dedicated, and hardworking. Everspring would not be anywhere near as successful without their IT, LD/ID, admissions and marketing teams. I joined this company because I believed in the mission and I drank the Kool-Aid and didn't believe the negative reviews on Glassdoor. It took me a little longer than most to come to this point, but I...

    Cons

Oh, where to start? I will echo other reviews in that middle management (across several departments) do their best to make their direct reports miserable. With the exception of one person, I don't think these are awful people. They just don't understand how to manage. Managing isn't about "do what I tell you to do. Did you do it yet? Why didn't you do it yet? Why aren't you doing it the way I told you to do it yet? Oh...

    Advice to Management

What can I add that hasn't been said so many times before? Re-evaluate your managers, as they are doing a lot more harm to your company and to your culture than you realize. People aren't leaving because of the CEO and President, per se, but because of their direct manager.

    I worked at Everspring full-time

    Pros

The concept behind the company is great and there is a lot of potential to do great things. You will meet some amazing people and there is a lot you can learn from other departments.

    Cons

If you like being treated like a child and having someone micromanage your every being, then this is the position for you. You’ll join this company after being fed this illusion that “you’re making a difference”, when in reality, you’re just a glorified telemarketer. The outreach strategies are so outdated and you’re constantly badgering people instead of being a TRUE Admissions Advisor. Management has no conflict resolution...

    I worked at Everspring full-time

    Pros

Most employees were quite helpful and kind when I was there. Free drinks, sunshine, holiday and birthday parties.

    Cons

Everspring has separation agreements with former employees to prevent them from badmouthing them on websites like Glassdoor. This is self-explanatory, and not a trade secret as it's pretty well known. Let your imagination run wild with this or look at the other reviews.

    Advice to Management

Hiding nuclear waste under a rug is not a good solution to bad PR. Use your higher education connections to go back to school and learn how to properly run a company, rather than rely on outdated methods.

It is unfortunate that you feel you had a negative experience at Everspring. We agree that anonymous social media sites such as Glassdoor are an ineffective platform for two way communication. Regardless, Everspring does not have separation agreements that prevent former employees ...

I worked at Everspring full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free La Croix, office is sunny, team members were relaxed and friendly.

    Cons

Unprofessional upper management - constantly shouting at each other and on the phone with their office doors open. Team leaders who had no business being in charge. Ridiculous amount of meetings - fully 3/4 of a day is spent in meetings, but a normal 8-hour's-worth of work is expected to be completed by day's end. Unclear directives that change mid-project; clients left because of how their accounts were handled.
