I worked at Everything But Water full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Absolutely not one positive thing about this company!

    Cons

You work long hours by yourself, often times you will work for extended days in a row and your district manager pretends not to notice that you are working so many days ina row. You have no payroll hours so your employee end up leaving, then during the busy season you are expected to hire someone in a week because all of a sudden you have payroll hours and you need to use them. You are micromanaged with everything , there is no flexibility on how to run your store and grow your business.

    Advice to Management

The executive team should take a look at your district managers , what are they doing in the field.. people work for people not a company!

I worked at Everything But Water full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

store hours are not long like most retailers, making work life balance a reality.

    Cons

There are store managers in place with no store manager experience, and the company does not do a great job at training. Because of this, stores are not ran properly and the turnover rate is through the roof. Communication between corporate and the store level is non existent. Managers should not be left in the dark about vital information pertaining to their particular location. The pay is also horrible. I have never worked as a manager for a company and was paid hourly.

    Advice to Management

Put in a place a proper training program for management. Hire only those qualified for their position and possibly the turnover rate who lessen. Pay ASM and SMS salary, so that they can spend more time in their stores without worrying about “going over hours.”

    Pros

The company does a really good job of training its sales associates properly. The job is fun and you get a chance to develop personal sales skills.

    Cons

Moving up in the job is not easy, or at least it wasn't easy for me. I was told that I did not have enough experience to apply for the assistant manager position and then ended up assisting in training the ASM that they hired.

    Pros

Awesome team, very strong work ethic and proactive coworkers

    Cons

Corporate and HR can be very cheap and inconsiderate. We are not allowed to have a microwave or fridge for our lunches. This is the only job that has put me in this situation. We are supposed to "plan our meals accordingly". Considering that most of us don't make more than $12 an hour, buying lunch everyday is a huge blow to our savings.

My manager went on maternity leave and they cut it short because apparently it has been less than a year from her last leave. So she only got a month's worth of leave. Maternity leave is already ridiculous in America, but one month???? How is that even reasonable, it's not like it's a vacation or sabbatical.

    Advice to Management

Put yourself in our shoes. We make thousands of dollars for you every week the least you could do is make sure you're taking care of us considering that we don't even make commission.

I worked at Everything But Water full-time

    Pros

    Nice product, and great customers.

    Cons

DM micromanaged to the point of changing the schedule constantly. No chance for life outside work as schedule for following week posted on Tuesday or Wednesday. Generally treated us like we were idiots. No autonomy to do what worked for your customers. Horrible retention of staff combined with intensive training meant all we did was interview and train. Lose unused PTO when you leave. Constantly changing PTO policy to benefit the owners.

    Advice to Management

Treat your management team with respect and allow us to do what is right for our customers and location. Stop being so controlling and paranoid.
