I have been working at Evolent Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are extensive (including 6 health insurance options, pet health insurance, multi-tier dental/vision plans, occasional remote work, 25 days/year PTO, free tea/coffee/soda, etc.).

Entry-level pay is market-competitive based on Glassdoor and LinkedIn market assessments. The company itself is well-positioned in the market and is highly responsive to the volatile value-based care market.

Company and teams are innovation-, objectives-, and collaboration-oriented rather than stuck on competitive office politics or keeping the status quo, and this shows through everyday team interactions and the history of Evolent's analytics development.

Analytics team follows through on its commitment to developing tech talent through extensive onboarding and skill training. The training is best for those comfortable with a high ratio of independent work, though teamwork and cross-department collaboration are critically important and strongly shape daily workflows.

    Cons

None seen so far. The work/life balance seems reasonable (40-45 hours/week for exempt Analytics employees) for entry-level employees. The workplace may be challenging for those not used to routine independent learning and limited direction on tasks.

    Advice to Management

Continue enforcing the great culture as the company grows.

I have been working at Evolent Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a company with an important mission and it's full of smart people who really care about reaching their goals. It's fast-paced and constantly changing but management really cares about living up to the company values and taking care of it's people.

    Cons

The company has to evolve as the market changes and change can be challenging.

    Advice to Management

Keep working to promote better communication between teams so people feel less siloed.

I have been working at Evolent Health full-time

    Pros

The employees are by far the greatest asset that the company has to offer and the peer relationships I have made during my time here have made my experience meaningful in spite of the challenges.

    Cons

This is the kind of company where the CEO and Chief Talent Officer, after extensively touting the company's diversity and inclusion efforts, still find it appropriate to give our white male COO this year's company leadership award, passing over numerous others who were clearly more deserving. This toxic "boys club" culture of cronyism amongst senior leadership means issues are not properly addressed and many are left picking up the pieces after poor decisions.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of unengaged senior leaders and break the tradition of cronyism

I have been working at Evolent Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Tremendous growth in the business with a very knowledgeable senior leadership team with a clear vision to achieve it. Cooperative, friendly, yet results-driven culture.

    Cons

Continual growth means continual change and managing in an ambiguous environment. People more accustomed to a stable environment will find Evolent to be challenging.

    Advice to Management

Strive to continually provide a line of sight to organization charts, phone directories. Further emphasis needed on overall value chains... how work gets done, how each function creates value for the value chain.
